WBA rules in favour of GGG 75/25 purse split with Jacobs

WBA did the right thing by telling Jacobs to **** off.
25% is fair.

Does anyone have a list of purse splits for recent fights, especially involving these two? This would help the comparison.

In reality Jacobs got his **** pushed in by Pirog and knows there's a good chance it will happen again. Therefore he wants to maximize his payday or just keep the belt and fight tomato cans. GGG knows what he is worth and obviously takes money as a high priority.

 

Now what to do for the fight to go through is to give Jacob 35%, that way lookin like you want the fight, give something you don't have to to Jacobs, put the pressure on him to accept. GGG will make more money that way than by fight a nobody.

I have no problem with 65-35. Not being privy to negotiations like the rest of us though I can only go on my gut feeling that would be just the start of the chiselling that every potential GGG opponent starts throwing up.

 

When Andre 'Oracle' Ward paid 30k to Brand I did not see a single thread go 15 pages....demo boys are too predictable.

Imagine you get sucked in to the back and forth - 20,000 posts, all that time.

Fark that - rather take the kids down to the gym and train or catch a local amateur show and catch up with actual boxing fans.

 

The closest comparison is GGG vs Lemieux. Both fighters went into the fight with 1 world title each. 67-37 in favor of Golovkin. This fight by comparison is GGG with 3 of the 4 major world titles and Jacobs with a lesser version of a title GGG holds. 75-25 as per mandatory status seems fair considering this isn't a title unification bout.

 

I agree with this although I would start at 70/30 and float down to 2 to 1

Then I guess he won't be getting any fights. I get it, these guys are "scared" of him, so make it worth their while. Golovkin doesnt even try.

 

If he's badly managed, he wouldn't be the main topic for the majority of Boxing fans even though he hasn't done jack in the ring so far.

 

I assumed real fighting fans would just like to see GGG vs. Jacobs, but when reading these posts it seems some of you are concerned Jacobs like he is a champion or something. He is not. In fact the closest thing that u can say about him is mandatory. He is offered the money he deserves. 25/75 is by the rule and fair. 30/70 is already a bit too generous taking consideration Danny doesn´t bring following or money on the table - Golovkin can sell MSG without him.

Just accept Danny is not a man who wants to reach for champion status. He is too happy to do what he is doing now. And don´t use a fear factor or management as an excuse. This situation pinpoints clearly Golovkin management is just following the rules.
