Just caught up with Saturday's WBSS 'action', interesting to have Rawlin and Jones commentating. Where's Ronald Mcintosh and does this edge a Boxnation deal closer ? Looks like no deal at all to me.
John Rawling and Barry Jones are both freelancers so I wouldn’t read too much into it. I have the feeling Channel 5 desperately want to pick up the Taylor card and are trying to work out how to acquire the rights to just his fights. The whole WBSS/TV situation is a mess.
as a fan perspective, i don't mind, as long it is shown on their website for UK fans. for the fighters, however, it is disappointing. these are good fighters in good fights, they should be getting the exposure
This will be the last season of WBSS. It can't survive with no decent broadcasters, they can't give it away. Also, other than inuoe, the competitions aren't as good. Saturday's fights were terrible and the cruiserweights are after the Lord mayor's show, just a load of losers without usyk.
Saturday night was rather boring. Cannot see how they are recouping their money tbh. Must be a question mark wether it is financially viable.
Expect a final in Saudi again. I reckon that went a long way to recouping costs last year. I know the model was to sell the whole tournament but it will have to be a fight by fight basis.
