I know, a bit of a silly question, just curious really, seems a bit of an odd night to stage a decent event, surely a Friday or Saturday would be more of a hit with the punters? maybe the venue is in use most weekends to prevent Boxing taking place then?

If I recall, two Prizefighters that have been held in Liverpool was also on Wednesday nights.

I don't mind mid week boxing. I think it would catch alot of viewers coming home after work with nothing to do. Weekend boxing often clashes with people going out to the pub, club etc

10 is a late start and yesterday was too late after losing 15-20 minutes of the start. Boxing must always start at 9. Its tough on me to stay up past 12 on a weekday when I've got work the next morning.

I don't think its the norm in Liverpool just Sky for some reason they showed the Lindsay Simpson fight on a Wednesday as well.

I have to say the Wednesday night didnt make the slightest bit of difference to the attendance the place was full easily 1000+ lots of support for big Dave Price as well.

British boxing was nearly always mid week when i was a kid. The Mickey Duff-Mike Barret shows were usually Tuesday then shown Wednesday night on sportsnight.

Most of the big fights use to take place on mid week back in the day. Leonard/Hearns was on a Tuesday.

as said think this suits tv more than people actually attending apparently the wednesday night prizefighter figures were one of the best. i do think though in midweek it should be 8pm/9pm start (takes the mick a bit saturdays is 8pm and wednesdays was 10 well 10.16pm) one its hard to stay up in the week i need my beauty sleep haha but more importantly for the fans going for last trains, buses at a weekend its not as bad but in the week people will want to get home
