ok wasnt sure i have small hands too but have never head of this method its to move the padding so you land with knuckles
Dude, Didn't you ask if I had "Clay-Jones" from '63 on tape?? Well, I do now... All 10 rds..... It was shown on ESPN Classics a week or two ago.... I taped it..... MR.BILL:rasta
The modern gloves of today will not allow to move around the padding like the obscure gloves of the 1920s would allow...... Today's gloves are stitched up much more tighter and secure..... And tampering with the gloves is a major violation in a prize fight.......:deal MR.BILL:bbb
got it mate found it on a DL website havent watched it yet though but cheers anyway yeh today its impossible to skim gloves but there is not a rule against it as it happens during th fight and is legal as far as i know but your right its almost impossible to do it to
I'm not saying I do anything shifty with the padding, i brace one glove against the other so I can fix my grip inside back towards the front of the glove. I was assuming Marciano was doing this, however he may have been shifting the padding on the old horsehair glove. The two moves would look similar is what I'm saying.
Was pretty sure Horsehair was gone by the 1950's. Foreman in his early bouts were wearing the same size oz gloves as Marciano was. I heard the commantary say there fighting in 8 Oz gloves, and I like that was the Oz Marciano ko Cockell lol.
Perhaps. Dempsey once broke sombodys jaw in 12 places wearing 16oz sparring gloves. More tall tales that you have no proof about right?
