for a person with bad posture or that always crouches when they box standing up straight actually puts extra pressure on their ribs and chest muscles making it even more difficult to breath and tends to be a disadvantage.
What I actually said was that you shouldn't keep your back straight and upright. I made no reference to curving the spine. What you said was that your head should stay over your coccyx, which would result in you standing bolt upright while boxing. Would you not agree that most boxers actually have their head further forward than their hips when boxing? (the hips, ie. pelvic area being where the coccyx is).
You're going to have to explain why fast twitch muscle fibres are over rated for near enough any athlete, not just boxers. How can being more powerful and faster be a bad thing?
are fast twitch muscles better then slow twitch muscles? you do realize that if you were to train at 3 sets of 10 reps purely for sacoplasmic hypertrophy all that bulk you build up is almost all fast twitch muscle mass. all those giant body builders....thats mainly fast twitch muscle mass. while famous boxers that are skin and bones like jimmy wilde were probly 80% slow twitch muscle mass.
Very poor argument on your side. Yes, fast twitch muscle fibres have the higher growth potential, bodybuilders train for size not power. If you want an example of fast twitch muscle fibres trained explosively like I'm saying, look at olympic lifters. Enough said. You should really stop with your stupid arguments. Athletes shouldn't care about fast twitch muscle fibre? You're a ****ing joke.
look at an Olympic lifter in the ring with a pro boxer.....enough said. please quote the post where i said that.
That was just ****ing stupid. Put a boxer in an olympic weight lifting competition. Enough said. You see how that proves nothing and makes you look stupid?
and why are we making a boxer do olympic weight lifting on a boxing forum? im not here to discuss whats best for a sprinter or an olympic weight lifter...im here to talk about what is overrated by this forum in the field of boxing training and that is fast twitch fiber.
So Mayweather and pacman are ******s? if your head isnt close to directly above your coxys then your going to be fighting against almost every joint every punch you throw. this is the first and easiest thing you need to be aware of and need to correct in terms of technique if you want to be fast and avoid wasteing energy. Next you have to locate the trigger muscles so you know what muscles to use and what not to use to stop using muscles against muscles thus wasteing even more energy.. if you overlook any of this you are costing yourself speed and wasteing energy, but more importantly if you overlook posture then it makes the problem of locating the trigger muscles even harder because not only are your muscles fighting against eachother but even if the trigger muscles are located they are still fighting against your joints because your not using them efficiently. Your muscles and joints can be like little hand breaks being left on in a car while driving, the car has 1 hand break, you have hundreds.. still feeling confident in having bad posture and maintaining good technique with good economy of movement? Oh i almost forgot to mention if you dont have good posture, aswell as leaving on handbreaks that you cant do **** all about your probably leaning, if your leaning your losing the ability to move in certain directions with speed and balance or somtimes losing directions alltogether after certain punches, good fighters know which directions these are and WILL see you there with a nasty shot trust me.
nope sorry the forum name still says east side BOXING and the section were in still reads off as Boxing Training/Amateur Boxing.
