Nono, don't try and justify it, they, and now you are saying that your head should remain above the coccyx - and by discounting what I said about the head always being above the coccyx on the spine regardless, the implication is that lefty and scrap, and now you, think the head should be directly above the coccyx, which doesn't work. This content is protected Look at this picture. Do you not see that, in a natura spine position the head is in fact slightlly forward of the coccyx? Only the back of the head is above, and when you take into account the fact most boxers somewhat tuck their chin, you're wrong altogether. Had scrap said pelvis, he would have a strong argument, but no, he said coccyx.
WHy don't people just buy a strength training book so they know what they are talking about? Calisthetics are used in gyms because they're cheap, portable and have a positive effect on conditioning - not because they make you significantly stronger. Your rep scheme is also waaaay wrong. Medium (submaximal) weights are fine, but if you actually want to get power out of it, you should be using low reps and trying to lift with as much speed as possible (explosively) That being said, up to a point, increased explosive power is a product of increased maximal strength. Getting stronger through a properly constructed strength training routine does NOT necessitate increase in mass. And Olympic lifts are not the only way of increasing explosive power - just the most popular way. The skill required to get anything out of them means time can be spent better doing less complex explosive manouvers, however if you are already proficient at Olympic lifting then I see no reason to stop.
In your pelvis, NOT your coccyx. Don't try to change the subject, or spout meaningless obscure bull**** - stick to the topic at hand. You said the head should always remain above the coccyx, I have showed you with a diagram that it doesn't work that way. Go ahead, check it out on gooogle they're all the same. I also said that, had you said pelvis instead of coccyx, a bone at the back of the pelvic region, you would have a strong argument, and probably be right.. But you didn't, you said coccyx.
its diffrent for just about every one depending on where most their muscle mass is but generally for men its around the sternum chest area and for women its around the belly button. out of curosity, why?
Most men's centre of gravity is not their sternum, unless you have a hideously overdeveloped upper body and underdeveloped lower body.
The coxxys is your centre of gravity, the diagram shows the ears above the coxxys does it not Horizontal and latereley no.
What diagram are you looking at? This diagram shows no ears at all. Here it is again: This content is protected Unless your ears are on the back of your head, in which case I feel sorry for you, they don't line up vertically with the coccyx.
ok the sternums alittle high more so at the bottom of the ribs belly button areaits about an inch higher and farther forward them womens center of gravity. but it is not at the waist. post one reliable source that claims the center of gravity for a man is usually at the coxxyx. NVM http://hypertextbook.com/facts/2006/centerofmass.shtml
You young man are talking out of your arse, which is in fact an inch below your centre of Gravity :hi:
LOL I'm actually in agreement with you on this one.. your argument is with scrap. Although I would appreciate him posting some evidence of his assertions once in a while as opposed to his constant obscure chinese-proverb(esque) posts. man who have hand in pocket feel cocky all day.
sorry yeah that post a source was supposed to be directed at scrap while the first part was in response to your post in agreeing that the center of gravity being in ones upper chest and shoulders was a bit of an exaggeration.
This is another case of ego, im afraid onepunch it seems youve yet to prove you have the technical knowledge or experience to be able to comment properly on the effects of good posture or to ''explain away'' any of my valid points made beyond the ******ed point of your heads not protected.. sorry. if you think dropping the chin is what saves you from straights then your a **** boxer.. and probably not the prettiest either :yep layers is what gives you protection, good posture gives you lots of layers.. Like a lot of posters on here seem to do when all else fails your finding the smallest error in detail you can find throughout the text so you can try and nit pick on that and side step any follow up explanation required to prove your theorys you are arguing, your trying to prove us wrong in the most irrelevant of ways in relation to the disscussion were having or arguing in a desperate attempt to try and make what you said still look true.. Good posture means good posture it doesnt mean you box like youve had a rod stuck down through your spine... it means you use your spine as nature intended.. dont hunch your back or bend at the waist or overly drop the chin, pulling it back works better. Maybe, just maybe if 3 people are telling you its right you would think a normal person might doubt themselves.. not on these forums lol. Im intrigued onepunch, scrap is a humble man so rather than explaining/justifying himself to you which is not his style ill ask you this question.. how many english, british, world titlists have you trained? onepunch? Now if you watch pacman and mayweather which both have very good posture when its needed which is what scrap is refering too.. but i guess they know **** either right? good posture, chin slightly pulled back and knees bent so your not ''bolt upright'' rather than head overly dropped and back hunched and or bent at the waist (see ylems videos for the worste case of hunch and lean ive ever seen) which on the dumbest simplest of levels could then be argued takes away the target for the straights but opens up a better one for uppercuts... so your cause for argument still just isnt there.. So you see your argument is hollow as of yet where as i have stated valid points on why good posture should be maintained you have failed to challenge any of these points or come back with points that support your own theory.. so come on.. why is leaning ''like most boxers do'' lmao.. sorry.. a good idea? id love to hear you ''explain away'' my points. Seriously you cant just say this is this and thats that and expect to be correct like a spoilt child, this is a grown up world now :bbbpost with information that can be interpreted to support your argument or dont post at all... seriously
