Well done Sky for creating a buzz about a fight!

Tonight's countdown show on Khan v Peterson is the reason why sky are the best at what they do. I am now buzzing about this fight and the buzz I'm feeling now should of been felt for cleverley v bellew but it wasn't because of boxnation.

 

There is no doubt about it. When I watch football or boxing. I want it to ideally be on Sky. I know I'll get the marketing, hype, production, pre and post analysis, all in the Highest Def

 

Good was it?

 

I flicked over once to see Nelson's voice over Khan getting crumpled by Prescott.

Flicked over again and saw the bodyshot Khan hit Maidana with.

Groundbreaking.

 

Nelson talking bollocks and highlights of Smith having an orgasm at Khan beating Maidana.
Great stuff.
Maybe tomorrow night Barry and Johnny can play with the touchscreens for two hours again:-(

There's only so many times you can see those clips though. I'm always excited for these big fights when it's first signed but by the time the weeks and weeks of promotion have taken place, I've lost a lot of that initial excitement. The amount of times we saw the same old **** from Haye and Wlad was unbearable. I went from being desperate to see the fight, to wishing it had already happened.

The experts are the absolute worst though. I can't stand hearing these people analyze a fight. They have such a short time to give their answer that you get absolutely nowhere and because they have to sell it, they give two sides to the argument, sometimes for no reason. When they were talking about Wlad/Mormeck, they mentioned how it could be dangerous for Wlad...no it couldn't, not in a million years. I want to hear someone like Brian Moore talk and just say "Fighter A will win because Fighter B has a glass ****ing jaw and has no heart". And I want that "industrial language" at 6pm when I'm eating my tea too.

I'm tired of all the promotion from Sky. I think it's ****, honestly. After the Khan fight, we'll hear lots about Ward's lack of power, his boxing skills, Froch's chin, his determination etc.. Ugh. It'd be fine if we haven't heard the exact same shite for the past few months. It'd help if they had a few pundits who were blunt and honest, rather than there just to sell the fight. Instead of talking about Peterson's determination because of his background, I want someone to say "He's nowhere near as good as Khan and shouldn't be a test".

When Karl Pilkington created 'Bull**** Man', that was perfect for Ringside. The next time Jim Watt or Glenn McCrory talk about a pathetic challenger and hype them up as being "tough and focused", I want Bull**** Man to fly into the room and sort them both out.

 

Adam "Great times for British Boxing" Smith just gets on my nerves.I cant stand his weird pervy smiles he gives to the guests.

I like the Sky coverage, the HD, I can even suffer the commentary but Adam Smith and Johnny Nelson are so wooden that I'm suprised they are allowed to sit under that hot studio lighting just incase they burst into flames.

Its amazing the contrast in coverage, remember when it was primetime and laz was saying there coverage was amazing and the best ever !waffle,waffle.

 

True I really enjoyed this episode of countdown, its as if they licked Khans arse slightly less this time

 

Sky have done well creating some hype about this fight. Shame that BoxNation can't get any hype whatsoever

 

It's a good job Duke McKenzie wasn't on the show. It was quite embarassing seeing him licking the arse of Khan when he was on the Marquez/Pacquiao show with him (I think it was that one). Even Khan looked uncomfortable.
