Well, that didn't quite go as planned...

When Martinez landed that shot he had his head sticking way out past his feet, his face pointed directly down at the floor, and his freaking eyes closed! PDub helped him out by leaning over right into the punch. The sad thing is that there are very few world class fighters who would have got hit with that shot. I sure as hell hope Williams does something about his technique.

I saw PW willingly giving up his height and reach and crowding Martinez. Martinez was backing up to set up that bomb!

Williams just can't take a good punch. That is all there is to it. He will be back.

Actually he can. He took all kinds of punches from Martinez, but that one got him. If you keep taking big punches in every fight like PW has been doing, something gotta take you out sooner or later. His chin is fine, he just needs to tighten up the defense and use the jab when moving forward.

How many legit power punchers has Williams fought? 1? Martinez is not and has never been a power puncher. Williams can't take a punch and there is no shame in that he can come back and I hope he does he is a likable guy.

Can I break it down any simpler than what I already said?

Since, you're obviously not that bright to begin with, I'll break it down with video to make it easier for you to understand.

Here is Martinez using his lateral mobility and quickness to jump in and out, typically with single shots, IE pot shotting.

Here is Martinez using his lateral mobility and quickness to set himself up to get inside, stay there, deliver shots and be more physical with Williams.

But what the **** do you know? You're a Wlad fan.

I mean, the difference is so ****in obvious, you can see it right away.

I agree that Williams was doing that too, and I think this was part of Martinezs gameplan because he knew that Paul is a game fighter and likes to fight.

But it was obvious to me at least anyway that Martinez gameplan this time instead of pot shotting, where Paul could have an advantage due to his superior reach, Martinez brought the fight right too him and was more physical where he would have a better opportunity to land some bombs...

    Which he did...

Williams is a first class warrior. He will be back. That loss was heartbreaking though. I dont tout him often but hes always been a fav of mine, its just you jock him so hard and talked so much **** on cotto that I didnt put it out there too much, but Williams has been a fav of mine for a long time, and that KO was straight heartbreaking. Wish there was a way his fans could send him some 'you'll be back' type messages or whatever. I still think Paul can rule 154 if Martinez isnt there.

    Just IMO, but

    Williams - Angulo
    Williams - Kirkland
    Williams - Berto
    Williams - Mosley
    Williams - Cintron

are all good scraps right now, and in all honesty I favor paul in every single one. He will be back. Maybe now other fighters will actually step up to the plate. There could be a silver lining here.

martinez threw that overhand left so many times in the rematch it is crazy that paul still walked onto it.

i mean his boxing IQ is shocking.

the same vs quintana, he made the same mistake all throughout the first match, which is why he came out swinging in the rematch.

paul kinda reminds me of shane, he is a good fighter but not a good boxer. his chin has let him down.
