Agreat article on rankings..may explain how Demori gets ranked after 2 years absense and fighting two unranked chumps...how he was ranked #17 in the WBS previously is a mystery. Shows u how corrupt and pathetic these sanctioning bodies really are

both chauncy welliver and Demori are trying to fool the boxing community to take them seriously by promoting themselves as top contenders by beating up duds on what should be better put on 'sham contests'

 

ok...now we have some facts. besides that chauncy welliver is a lying, fat, light heavyweight with an eating disorder..

welleater offered the leapai camp HALF of the $$ to have a fight in china, compared to the DOUBLE the ammount of $$ that leapais camp offered the obese **** to fight in indonesia some time earlier, which he turned down! obviously he didnt want to fight. the broken jaw might effect his gluttony?

the fight offered in NZ was for a pittance, and the leapai camp turned it down as they would lose credibility once the public got a look at the obese shape of welliver, and alex delivered an early blowout victory.

it would be a major embarrasment for alex to be seen in the same ring as an out of shape, 'boxer' (and i use the term loosely) with a potential clinical eating disorder.

after all. alex is no demori....

You are right. I hadn't seen the new WBC rantings. I thought they would have came out after Marks recent win. I am willing to bet Mark is higher ranked next month. Other than that, Leapai has no rankings. And if Alex would be embarrassed to fight an obese fighter like myself, why did they not accept fighting me in Sept 2008 and fight a much shorter, fatter Liava'a instead in New Zealand? Why do you push for me to fight him so much if it is an embarrassment to your hero? The offer in New Zealand was the same exact offer I was given to fight him in OZ, then they said they did not trust the officials in NZ, which is a laugh considering this was just after his fight with Travis Walker in one of the worst stoppages I have witnessed.
As for China, we offered them just what they were worth, and I can assure, it was more than half their offer, which is about what he's worth considering he has no ranking. And yes, I turned down the offer to fight in Indonesea, I had a fight coming up, and I'm not sure if you can do this in Oz, but if you back out of a contract here in America, your license is done for quite some time.

Listen, I think Leapais good, but raw. Nobody is scared of him though. If he's ready to prove he's legit, he'll fight the guys he hasn't really proven himself with, like Walker. Even the Owen Beck fight was life and death and a fast stoppage, although I do agree he would have stopped him anyway in time. Alex is good, and still learning, but for some reason, nobody seems to care. He sells pitiful amounts in Oz and nobody around the world cares to fight him as he has no pull, no draw. If he plans on getting a title shot he and his team might wanna learn you have to be ranked by the champions belts in order to get the shots. :good:tired

chauncy is right though,

u have to pick up these regional belts somewhere so u can get in the rankings. but its worth noting that there is no point getting to the top and with a chance of fighting for the title if u haven't had good testing bout cause u r only gunna get smashed and make a fool of yourself imo.

Sal, I think you're being a bit tough on Chauncy. After all he went the distance with boxing's train wreck Rob Calloway in China last year and jagged a UD win.
Dommie finished poor Rob off inside 4 rounds so I guess that gives him the front running in the ratings over Welliver.
Some people think these two blokes are hoodwinking the gullible boxing public by fighting stiffs and broken down old boxers while dodging younger more dangerous fighters but it's all part of a cunning plan.
Dommie and Chauncy are going to make a big splash on the world heavyweight scene before too long especially Mark with Ashley and Ippy guiding him along.

Chauncy fears nobody. He goes up to Russia to be the main man in Povetkin's camp. He's in Germany going rounds with Huck, Helenius, Valuev, Bidenko, and on and on and on. He's been bashed on by Mike Tyson, Wlad Klitschko, Shannon Briggs and so many others. He was the main man for Cameron and has been all kinds of rounds with Tua.

That is sparring but that is day in and day out taking shots from the best fighters in the world. The god damned fight is the easiest part of the whole deal. 36 minutes at most and then a nice lay off. This dude wakes up the next morning and tosses the gloves back on and goes at it again. For sparring wage.

He took on the Olympic Gold Medalist with 10 f'n days notice. Traveled half way around the world to do it and he couldn't drop him when he was fat and not even training.

For any of you fools to question this mans heart or bravery is just assinine. He is the furthest from a cherry picker that there is. And at 6-3 235 pounds or less, he is in phenomenal shape. To say he is fat or obese is a bad f'n joke.

Leapai has bad mangagement...period. They are cheap and they have no clue how to position him or market him. If they had any damn money to make a fair offer, or had accepted the fair offers given them, he already would have had his arse handed to him.

Chauncy is #6 WBC and #7 WBO. He has an offer on the table to fight Seth Mitchell on HBO if they both get through April unscathed. Why would he mess with Leapai when nobody even cares about him unless it is for a good pay check? He's gonna get a good check and a chance to fight the guy that has the highest stock amongst all USA HW's right now....and do it on HBO which is the premeire network there is. Klits fon;t even get all their fights on there.

De Mori is positioning himself to be in the rankings for a meaningful bout. He will be ranked ahead of Alex next month and he will continue to soar past him from there. And then he will get his arse kicked while Alex is still wondering why nobody knows him or cares to see him.
