    Perfect scenario here:

Bute fight and knock Larsen in Germany
Kessler rematch and beat Mundine 117-111
Bute rematch and beat Andrade 120-108
Kessler beat Inkin and capture another belt

    Bute vs Kessler !

I did my own count on youtube: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8...UP, than, the ref turn at Andrade and yell at him for 5 sec = first mistake, the second mistake came from the bell ringer, the fight was over since Bute got up he should had just ring it.

Lol @ people saying Bute was "up at 8". Standing, but slumped against the ropes is not "up".

Bute should have been stopped about 15 seconds before that farce anyway.

He was up and signaled he wanted to continue the whole fraction of a second left. And do you think anybody stops the guy who dominated for 11 rounds,is the champ, his backyard in the last 20 seconds?

Exact..., last round, last 20 seconds, Bute ahead by 5-6 rounds, he cant stop it even tho Bute was out on is feet.

Remember Gatti vs Ward in the third round of the second fight, ward was completely disoriented and OUT on is feet, the ref never stop it.

Remember Klitschko vs Brewster I, Wlad completely out, but since he had won every rounds the ref give him a chance even tho he got knock out soon after.

When a fighter is cleary winning, the ref has to give him a chance to get back in the fight..., if Andrade was the one in trouble, the fight would have been over, just because he was loosing the fight anyway.

There are no standing eight counts in championship fights. The referee couldn't have stopped the fight with Bute still on his feet. He had to see him get dropped before he could stop the fight. It's the rules!

The ref did a horrible job in that 12th round. It really appeared as if he was trying to give Bute a helping hand and I hope he doesn't get anymore major fights to ref. Having said that, Bute deserved the decision. He was up after 7-8 seconds and time had run out on the round. The ending was ugly because of the ref's favoritism but that in no way should mean the wrong guy won.

The fight was a very entertaining one despite Bute winning 8-9 rounds. I see a lot of people are saying they want to see a rematch and I agree. But there are a few other fights I would like to see more. I'd rather see Bute-Kessler or Bute-Taylor first or Andrade against Bika or Miranda. I just don't think Andrade can win enough rounds to beat Bute but he showed he has the ability to stop him. I still see Bute being a solid favorite in a rematch.

Bollocks! The referee can stop a fight at any point if he considers that either fighter is in no fit state to continue. What he cannot do is take up a count unless the guy is actually floored (so you're right, no standing 8 count). However, the referee can stop the fight at any point if necessary to protect the health of a fighter even if he is still on his feet.

Yeah, and on what grounds would he have deprived the Champion of his title before he got knocked down? Just because he was taking punches doesn't mean the referee should have stopped the fight. The referee made the right decision to let it continue as we all know now. Bute got dropped, beat the count, stayed on his feet, went to his corner, celebrated the decision, gave an interview, etc. he didn't go to hospital or anything. He wasn't as much hurt as exhausted in the last round. The referee did the right thing. The better man won the fight and the referee would have robbed Bute if he had stopped it early.

I didn't say he should, did I? Just that the original comment was inaccurate. It is not the rules that a fighter has to get dropped before the ref can stop the fight. I agree for what its worth, Bute was throwing just enough back (or holding just enough) to stave off the stoppage, especially when you consider that he was winning comfortably.

Cool! I was only saying Bute should not have been stopped on his feet by the referee as some here suggested.
