I thought Byrd would win an easy decision and get himself in a position for a title shot but I was wrong. Byrd just looked old and only had momnts of landing powerless jabs. It was sad and this may be the end of Byrd's career.
I agree. But I think the thread starter does not give George the credit he deserves. He was fighting a great fight with fast hands; crisp shots. Nothing lackluster about him, at all. :good
As much as I have conversed and disagreed with Flatlander on Chrissy Byrd, it's rather difficult to phantom Flatlander ever uttering those words. If he did say that I think he was just trying to get a rise out of some people. Prime Tyson damn near kills prime Byrd in one round. It would be a reply of Tyson vs Spinks all over again but much worse.
Well he could get seriously hurt, but Byrd would lose to a prime Tyson. Byrd cannot hurt Tyson or outbox him, Tyson will eventually "catch him" and knock him out. I always knew Byrd was never fit for heavyweight since his loss to Ike Ibeabuchi. Had Byrd fought at LHW in his prime, he defintley would give Roy Jones Jr. a run for his money though.
