What about Povetkin?

    Did Povetkin willingly relinquish his IBF title fight, or was it just postponed, and he'll get Wlad next (assuming Wlad beats Haye)?

    I read somewhere he tripped over a root and broke his foot while running, and that is why the fight with Klitschko was postponed. I also read that he had some American trainer giving him advice. Anybody know who it was and what became of it?

    Yes, he had an injury, ankle/foot. He will not beat Vitali of Vlad.

    Some minor improvements to his style could easily get him the win. I'm not actually expecting that to happen, but it would be nice.

    Povetkin is not ready to fight Vitali or Vlad yet, he needs more fights.

    Povetkin repeats his mistakes every fight which tells us that he has reached his level. Won't matter how many more fights he gets, he is as ready now as he ever will be. It is time for him to take the big step. The little Klit has been known to fall apart when pressured so we can conclude that Povetkin's high pressure style will give him a chance, small though it might be.

    funny how everyone STILL says "presure will beat Wlad":nut

    Since the Peter fight most have tried that game plan and not 1 guys has won.....I wonder if its time for a new game plan because that same old "pressure him"game plan against Wlad hasent worked very well:huh:D

    Povetkin wants to fight in June? Is he? He is very quiet and his promoter Sauerland too :D

    They should be quiet, seeing how they just ducked Dimitrenko. They're probably looking for some ex-contender for Povetkin to look good against again, not that he looked all that great in his last 2 outings.

    Hmmm...nobody ever took adavantage of these supposed weaknesses and now Povetkin will? Vitali has faced faster fighters (Hide, Sanders), slicker fighters (Byrd, Donald, Gomez), much harder punchers that Povetkin and nobody, win or lose, looked good against Vitali. Proven lack of heart an toughness? Ah, that's why he took on Lennox on 13 days notice and challenged for the WBC title without tuneup fight after a four year layoff...
