What a fight Kats down TWICE in 1st Kats ok and even enough on the scorecards come round 5 Casa put out of the ring in the 6th Casa gets point deducted Kats floored with hook and ref stops it
:good**** WHAT A FIGHT!! How the hell did Katsidas get up from that last KnOCKDOWN???:huh he was on ***** street, and took a lot of hard shots and his face looked like it went thru a meat grinder fair stoppage, the kid is only 27, he'll be back..
it reminds you of why we put up with all the bull**** found in the sport today... ****in awesome ffight
Katsidis even in this loss has tons of marketability, he'll get A LOT of opportunities at title shots. I'm with the rest of you guys...Casa-Campbell II and Juan-Katsidis on the same card.
We got lucky today. Two really good fights. It's unfortunate their will be no mention of it on ESPN and ****. This is where its at. People that say Boxing is dead usaully watch fihts like holyfield-ruiz.
Yes, he did say that. I'm not so sure that he would get any of those fights that he is looking for though.
Scary thing is you read people already trying to cut Kats down. Then they wonder why fighters enjoy the path of least resistance.
My biggest criticism of the referee was the failure to penalize and warn Casamayor more often for the incessant holding. Either leave them alone and stop breaking them all the time, let Katsidis work his arms free and punch on the inside, or break and warn every time Casamayor holds, and then start taking points off. Just breaking constantly hurt Katsidis. Also, when one guy holds, the guy who was not holding (the nonoffending party - the guy who is not holding and not breaking the rules) should not be forced to take a step back. The referee should push back the holding party and caution. Why should Katsidis be penalized by having to step back and do all that work to get back inside again?...only to be held yet again. Stoppage was justifiable, not horrible, but still, I thought it was too soon, given that Katsidis was still fighting back, and had previously shown that he could come back from being hurt. Perhaps could have given him a few more moments. I felt the same way about the Andy Lee fight last night. Casamayor is totally full of ****. He was badly rocked by those body shots and a number of those solid head shots. That's the most hurt I've ever seen him. Katsidis' biggest mistake was headhunting too much after hurting and decking Casamayor, and by allowing the pace to slow down. Once Casamayor caught his second wind and was moving better, Katsidis made the fatal error of charging in with his head up in the air, throwing from too far away at the head, dropping his hands and lifting up as he threw, something you don't want to do in general, but especially not against a southpaw. Hell of a fight though. I'd love to see Katsidis again. Casamayor, for all his ability to win, is not as entertaining as Katsidis. He is a safety first fighter who only really fights when forced to do so.
I didn't think the holding was a big deal. However, Casa is without a doubt, one of the most habitual headbutters in the history of boxing. I am amazed at how many times he gets away with dipping low, and absolutely plowing his head up into his opponents face.
