How could I forget Holmes?atsch I'd put Holmes up there with Dokes or maybe right below him. 1) Tyson I - past prime but still formidable Tyson. 2) Bowe II - big revenge win; Bowe's only loss. 3) Tyson II - only man to beat Tyson twice. 4) Moorer II - revenge win; 2/3 of the undisputed championship. 5) Dokes - WAR. Dokes was game. First BIG test at heavyweight. 6) Holmes - Holmes pasted Mercer months earlier. 7) Qawi - first BIG test of his career. 8) Foreman - underrated fight. 9) Douglas - first heavyweight title. 10) Mercer - comeback. Nice brawl and first to floor Mercer.
I respect Holy for that, he knew the man to beat was Tyson. Just like Pacman knows the man to beat is Mayweather :yep Funny thing is, Tyson gets called overrated but then hes Holyfields best win??? Holyfield seems to have much more respect for Tyson than some of the keyboard warriors
We talking prestige or performance? Because Ruiz I did net him a title belt, even if his performance (at least over the second half) was pretty bad. While Douglas got him the Undisputed even if it was a cake-walk for Holy. I'd say: Qawi I Foreman Bowe II Tyson I Moorer II
I see this all too often on these boards. Even The Ring magazine placed Holyfield at that coveted #3 spot all time at heavyweight immediately after beating Tyson. Tyson was not what he used to be but it's still a great win.
Qwai 1 - First huge gut check victory Dokes - first big heavyweight test Douglas - prime performance Bowe 2 - regains title v.s. near prime Bowe Tyson - tremendous upset, tremendous fight
I agree, great win. I think the fact he had already beaten him stops the second one being one of his top 5 wins. A great win but not in his top 5 for me.
