What are Petersons chances against Khan tonight?

:deal 100% agree with your post. One of the reason why I pick Peterson tonight. Just hope we see a great fight tonight with no controversy.

 

I agree with your prediction; Khan builds an early lead, starts to look bad and possible drop some rounds getting hit, but makes it late; I think Khan might hurt him and get the KO though. I also get the feeling Khan might come out more explosively than ever trying to get a dominant KO, but going on what we've seen from Khan, what I agreed with you on is how I see it going down.

Lamont takes too long to adjust IMO, but he eventually times hard and surprising counters over his opponent's shots. Khan's chin isn't as bad as they say, but nobody benefits by getting hit with the kind of shots Lamont throws. He did well in the latter rounds against Ortiz and impressed me VS Cayo. He's certainly no scrub. This should be a good fight.

 

I won't overlook Lamont. But i don't see him winning. Khan is a step above. Khan might even get a late stoppage.

Lamont won't make it easy though. I'm hoping he puts a lot of bodywork in. It's a very good test for Khan.

I expect Khan to win a UD.

Amir is a fast starter, Lamont isn't, if it goes past 4 I can imagine a close fight with Peterson having every chance of the upset. Khan got flattered by Judah but against McCloskey looked terrible. Good fight.

very slim. Roach doesnt pick fights he thinks Khan will lose. however, there's always a chance of Khan having a bad night and Peterson having his best.

Simple answer, he wont.

 

This is exactly how this fight looks on paper.......now we'll see the stats played out in the ring.

Obviously at 9/1 my money's on Lamont. He's got way more power than Judah, 10X the heart and 10000X the chin, and no glass body either.

His only loss, a shutout to Tim Bradley was also a fight that Lamont lost on paper before it started. This of course is the likely outcome tonight as well, but.........................with Khan, there is that wildcard, the chin. And Lamont has a powerful OH R that he throws over the orthodox jab. If Khan is at all lazy with that jab, he's getting KTFO. If Khan darts in and out without throwing on the way out, he's getting KTFO.

It doesn't matter if it's 10 second left in the 12th with Khan up 11-0 on the cards......on lazy jab, or one step out without throwing and he's eating canvas and trying to beat an anxious ref's count.

 

Peterson has no power and he makes that noise when he punches. Only fighters with no power do that.

It seems as if Peterson needs to outmuscle rather than outbox. However, I think Khan has the right style, trainer, and strategy to come prepared for whatever Peterson will do. Depending on the strategy, Khan will get a UD if Peterson tries to box him and possible KO/TKO around round 10 if Peterson tries to outmuscle him. Peterson has to take a chance but it is high risk/high reward. I still like Khan and does seem to be a level above Peterson.

 

I just hope AMere Con doesn't pull another KNEEguel Quito imitation and start hitting below the belt the same way he cheated Zab out of a win.
