I don´t think it was significant. It was Schmeling´s last bout at lhw, he wasn´t a hw then. Daniels was a good fighter though and has some good names on his resume.

Well...Fitzsimmons over Corbett and Lewis over Briggs gave the British two linear heavyweight champions of the world. It doesn't get much more historic than that!
Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones were pretty historic when Joe Calzaghe beat them. That or the Lewis - Holyfield draw. I wouldn't consider Laing over Duran a historic win as he did little after it, whereas Lewis went to define himself as an ATG, with that Draw/Win as his base.
