For those who do not understand a boxing sequence is a moment in the fight that stands out, for good or for bad, for example Guillermo Rigondeaux and Casimero casually strolling around the ring not throwing punches

My favorite boxing sequence of all time has to be these perfect 15 seconds from the third round of The Brawl in Montreal (24:30–24:45)

Roberto Durán has Sugar Ray Leonard cornered after hurting him in the previous round with a 1-2-3. He has him on the ropes, trading punches to the guard. As Leonard tries to get Roberto off him after briefly going motionless, throwing an uppercut and a hook, Durán slips it and immediately comes back with one of the most vicious combinations I have ever seen him throw.

The commentator yelling, “Why would they want Leonard to take him inside?!!” while Durán just keeps punching, and the crowd rising to their feet, their shouting echoing in the background… it gives me chills everytime i rewatch it

That Holmes-Norton exchange late in the 15th round is epic.

Also Holmes, in his war with Mike Weaver as Hercules pounds him into the corner and Larry unleashes that vicious uppercut to drop Mike and take all the starch out of him.

    33:50

Edit: Fixed the time, was a minute off. Floyd elbow parries the right hand from Baldomir, counters with an uppercut and rolls out under a left hook. It's probably my favourite Floyd clip.

I love this exchange between Dick Tiger and Henry Hank. Start it at the 2:10 mark and at 2:15 they will trade simultaneous left hooks designed to take each other's head off. But amazingly, neither is hurt and they continue on their day at the office.

I also love that sequence in Ali-Foreman in the fourth round (or was it the fifth?) when George is throwing wrecking-ball hooks to Ali’s body — the kind that look like they could crush concrete pillars — one after another and Ali is just taking them and smack-talking George between blows.

The will of that man was indomitable.

What did he say at one point? ”They told me you could hit hard … don’t disappoint me, George.”

There are so many sequences in Montreal alone that probably most of mine would be from this fight alone, to me it was that good.

There’s another great one in the fourth or fifth I think where Durans on top but Leonard comes back, Duran dodges a couple of punches bobs left and right and spins him , it’s at the end of the round.

Right there with you--there were so many fabulous moments in the "Brawl in Montreal" I can't even list them! The ENTIRE fight was an incredible boxing sequence!! (To this day it's the greatest fight I've ever seen!)

A lot of folks overlook the fact that George was hitting Ali with SLEDGEHAMMERS to the body in that fight. Those body shots would have absolutely broken an ordinary fighter into pieces!

But Ali, as you perfectly stated, had an indomitable will and spirit that we mere mortals can't even fathom!!

Many years ago, when they used to show the Thursday night fights from the Olympic Auditorium on television a night or two later, Jim Healy was doing the commentary. I don't even remember who was fighting, but I still remember it and I may have been 11 at the time.
Two fighters are trading punches, fighter A nails fighter B with a huge left hook. Healy says "i don't know how he took that hook". At that point fighter A throws a follow up right hand to flatten fighter B. Without missing a beat Healy says "But I guess it doesn't matter now."
Hard to believe that was only 25 years ago, or double that, lol.
