Most boxers are elite athletes but some have enormous pure athleticism. Here are my candidates. Given a year of training who would win?

    Roy Jones Jr.
    Muhammad Ali
    Lennox Lewis
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Ken Norton

Don't quote me on this, but I remember reading something that said Wlad was the fastest sprinting HW that either Manny or someone in his camp had seen.
Pacquiao had his energy levels as a plus but was also smaller than the usual athlete for those sports.
If we're stretching on who qualifies as an ATG by adding Norton, I wanna stretch it even more to get Sergio Martinez in on this.

Norton is an easy answer, considering his high school background but borderline great. A true ATG, I go Holyfield off the top of my sagittally-crested dome. For a guy who likes to go to war, the guy can run his arse off when he wants.

Note to self: Start Orlando Cruz greatness thread later.

Ali, Lewis, and Norton were my choices. ChatGPT added the others.

What level of Decathlon? Can't see Lewis as much of an 800m runner and only Jones as a pole vaulter...

For once, James might be the right answer.

Corrie Sanders is another mention. Dude broke 11 sec in the 100 meters as a rugger.
