What can you tell me about Gene Fullmer?

I do not think that Gene Fullmer,as strong as he was,was in the same league P4P,with Carmen Basillio...Carmen Basillio, though stopped twice by Fullmer,was about 32-33 years of age than, and past his peak...Basillio was a true welterweight,tackling a super strong Fullmer...Sad example...In 1961 Fullmer ko,d welterweight Benny Paret, giving the smaller Paret a horrendous beating...Just three months later ,I watched Paret being stopped by Emile Griffith, and Paret died soon after...Fullmers prior ko of welter Benny Paret was the main cause of Parets fatality...in primes,Basillio was a better fighter than Fullmer P4P, I believe....
