No chance. GSP (though very talented) is just too basic on the feet in comparison to beat any top notch striker. And unlike other strikers whom he'd be able to take down, control, and finish on the ground, Silva has the ground skills to cope, and I can't see GSP lasting 5 rounds without catching something huge in one of their exchanges on the feet.

:yep Of course he would have a chance of winning but Anderson will be the favourite and rightly so. As a few people have said lets see how its goes tonight. If GSP wins tonight he would have another tought fight in Thiago Alves. If he wins both fights only then should there be talks of a fight between GSP and Anderson Silva.

Don't say too basic on his feet, because if he is, then 97 percent of UFC's striker are basic.
By your own standard, A.Silva would be the only one who's not too basic in striking in the UFC.

GSP is a very good striker, but he is not on the level of Anderson, and in comparison...he is basic. I find it amazing that anyone thinks GSP has a chance here actually. It's an awful matchup for him, and Anderson silva is HUGE in comparison and much stronger...I don't care what anyone in Camp St. Pierre says. Anderson threw Franklin around like a rag doll, destroyed Marquart and Luter ON THE GROUND, and stopped Henderson. Ummm just stop it already :patsch

Who is on the level of Anderson Silva?
Look, if GSP is too basic, than everyone else in the UFC apart from A.Silva is too basic standing...Franklin has an overrated striking, he throw his punch with his elbow out , I mean..Lutter get the better on the ground in the first round, than just gassed out because he is a fat ****.. Why would I stop it? GSP has the right style to pose some problem to A.Silva

I agree, that beat down of Franklin was very impressive. No one til this date has been able to man handle Franklin around like that

No. Alves might have a better chance stylistically. Remember GSP got out struck by BJ, and BJ just boxes. Rashads standup is very strong, Machida has great stand up.

No Alves doesnt have a better chance, he lacks defence, A.Silva will knock him out, isnt enough elusive.
GSP landed more strike on his feet than BJ, remember that.

where did I imply what he wasnt?:huh:huh:huh
But he doesnt have the wrestling of GSP, GSP can hold him down, and have the stamina to continue to do so.

How do you know that? Because he held down Matt Serra? I think your gonna be a little shocked at the size difference. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as a dick about this, no intention there. Anderson fills out nicely at Lt Heavy, and is a HUGE middleweight. GSP has never fought anyone quite as strong, dynamic or even skilled as Anderson. GSP is gonna be 15 lbs heavier then BJ tonight, he is the bigger guy. If he fought Anderson he would be the significantly smaller guy. 4 inches in height is huge, especially against a guy who is already quicker then you. :deal

because he held down Kos and Fitch, two better wrestler than Silva.

    No it's all good.

And Silva just have better handspeed than GSP, he is in no way faster on his feet as GSP is the better athlete!
You'll change your mind thought over time:yep

yeah I'm not sure about that. I think due to the way BJ throws counters, alot of his shots may land but might be missed.

Look my favorite fighters are BJ, then GSP....then a far way down starts the rest. BJ is the only fighter I would ever root for to beat GSP. I've been accused of mancrushing on Rush on many occassions haha but he aint beating Anderson, no way. He should however beat BJ tonight, but anything can happen in this one. :good
