What Cotto has to do in this fight is be first and come forward when Sergio feints. Sergio likes to feint to get his opponent's reaction and then he attacks. As soon as Sergio feints, Miguel needs to come forward and throw punches. He can't afford to wait because he cannot win that way. Has to be first; has to come forward. To delve further, I think Cotto should be the one to try and take advantage of any feinting going on. He should feint the jab sometimes with a quarter turn to the left while moving his feet as quickly forward as possible and see if he can get Sergio to make a mistake and then throw the overhand right. When he gets in close then he can let go of the left hand. I worry about Miguel being able to bring his hands back into position though. Sergio is probably a bit faster, but he's kind of long and deliberate with his punches. Miguel needs to be first, but he also needs to be able to slip shots if he gets on the inside so he can have opportunities to counter. Miguel can not afford to let Sergio sit on the outside and posture with his hands down. If Miguel does that, with the way he likes to kind of lean forward, then he'll probably get beat to the punch all night and get knocked out. He has to be first. Sergio is NOT a good defensive fighter and definitely not a good inside fighter. Miguel has to try and make it an uncomfortable fight by making Sergio fight off of the back foot because Sergio is not good fighting that way.
With Martinez being a lefty with a very low guard he will be open to those damaging body shots. If cotto is to have a chance I thnk he is going to have to pummel that liver. But - I expect Martinez to be too big and too quick. Martinez by late rd tko (9th) is my prediction.
Make sure he bumps that knee during the fightÂ…and pray that Martinez is not at least relatively healthy

The only way Cotto wins is if Sergio's knee is still messed up, if Sergio is healthy no way Cotto will win, and the 10 million dollar payday from Canelo disappears.
