That Warden has lost another big payday.....so saaaaaad Like Liam though he seems genuine guy but up against a beast imo
Beefy certainly belongs there in my opinion. More than held his own, if only he had more power then things could have been different. Although he lost most rounds I'd say at least 4/5 were very tight. Deserves all the credit he gets. Will be interesting where he goes from here now as his stock has certainly risen over there but there's some good fights here to be made (Brook and maybe Williams)
Joe Gallagher with his hands up chin down tactics again when one of his fighters fights a more advanced boxer. What's the point in loosing the first half of a fight to see if your opponent tires. Even if he does you still have to knock him out to win
Not sure if i watched a different fight. But thought he was well out his depth. Gave it a go but would go as far to say canelo carried him...could have ended it pretty much anytime he wanted. No discredit to beefy. Just not on or anywhere near that level. Hard to even criticise gallacher...the gulf in class too wide. Canelos a great fighter tbf.
Told us that Smith isn't top 10 at 154, he looked durable and that's about it. Slow, no power, no punch variety.
have to agree with this post, liam was shown to be british/euro level and canelo proved he was world level and border elite. even when liam had canelo against the ropes where he wanted him it was canelo who looked in control and comfortable. you could see in between rounds that liam was looking defeated and he wasn't really responding to what joe gallagher was saying to him. liam showed guts and that if he was to get more experience against better quality opposition could come again but he really needs to up his previous level of opposition
It showed us that Liam Smith is not a world-class fighter. He put up a brave effort but was totally outclassed and never won a round on my scorecard. I don't think he's even in the top 10 of that division. As for Canelo, I don't think we learned anything new last night. We knew he was a level above Smith before the fight and his performance merely confirmed the obvious.
He's just not at that level. I'm not sure he is even the best 154 fighter in the UK, I would pick Liam Williams to beat him and have said that since the Hefron fight.
Yeah I watched that video and wondered what kind of drugs he was on. Last night proved that Liam Smith doesn't belong at world level, lost every round & never posed any sort of threat to Canelo. Brook v Smith will be a good match up for Kells first fight at 154.
Would anyone fancy Smith against Lara, Andrade, the Charlos, Cotto, Trout, Julian Williams, Brook, Vanes? If not, he's not world level. A tough and likeable kid but he can't compete with the best.
Yeah it wouldn't be the biggest fight in the UK but would do well enough on sky sports. Could probably do well in the echo arena. It would have a back story. Sky could release full footage of the sparring. All depends if kell wants a fight at domestic level on his come back. Actually now intrigued to see what shot kell landed on Smith to cause the cut.
