    my word.

his point was that pavlik breaks his opponents down with his power. he does not take them out with one shot. he wasn't claiming pavlik never had power, but he is correct that he doesn't have true one punch power.

he beats his opponents down before stopping them.

    another brilliant post.

HBO fed calzaghe sakio bika (which now doesn't look that bad a win) and peter manfredo to showcase joe to the american public which failed badly because he looked like **** in both fights before finally turning it on against kessler in his third HBO fight. so are you saying they were more ready for joe than kelly?

How many times have I seen people underestimate Calzaghe?

Eubank, Lacy, Kessler, Hopkins, it's happened time and time and time again.

Well Pavlik had a future and they were building him up at that time. Bob saw something special in him so of course they were not going to put him up against a long time defending champ like Joe. He was beginning to enter world class level at that time. Sakio and Peter are bums unlike Kelly which is why Calzaghe choosed them and like you said he still looked like ****.

Kessler and Lacy were both good wins and Hopkins is past his prime. Also Pavlik has a different style than those guys so it will be a different fight. Yes, I know I said Hopkins is shot and believe me I wont talk **** if Pavlik beats him since I called him shot. :good

So what it comes down to, is that Pavlik was offered the fight, turned it down and now decides he wants to fight Calzaghe when he's already got a fight lined up, has just turned 37 and wants to retire.

joe didn't choose them, HBO supplied them. that is why joe had to give up the IBF strap he won from jeff lacy in between the bika and manfredo fights because HBO were not interested in the mandatory challenger robert stieglitz.

Bika is not a bum. He gives anybody a rough night. Bums do not make it tough for world class fighters, and Bika has done that twice now.

I'm not talking about the quality of wins. I'm talking about the fact is that a lot of people were picking Eubank to beat Calzaghe all those years ago, a lot were picking Kessler to beat him, a lot said Hopkins was too smart for him, almost every single boxing expert and every single American picked Lacy to KO Calzaghe, and he turned in probably the best performance by a British fighter of all-time.

Well look at both sides of the spectrum. Joe wants to retire and Pavlik wants the fight now. I dont blame Pavlik for not going after the fight if thats true at that time since he wasnt ready. Thats like Cotto fighting Margarito in his 11th pro fight. It aint gonna happen. You sure he was offered the fight? I dont believe it since Kelly said he wasnt offered anything. :huh

Thats fine but like I said Pavlik has a different style that Joe has not seen before.
