I remember in the Olympics Vanes had a million excuses why he lost a fight. Since his pro career...haven't paid much attention to him.
Apparently he beat the likes of Bradley and a few other established fighters in the amateurs, infact Berto could of been someone else he beat, cant remember.

As you all know, it is very common for rising contenders to fight older champs that are a bit ring-worn, but still have a little something in the tank. With that in mind I expected Martyrosian to handle Ouma about the same way JT handled Raul Marquez, or Pavlik handled McKart. At the end of the day I had Ouma one point up. I haven't had much interest in Vanes since then.
