Style over substance a little bit. Good fighter who i think can win a strap, but nothing great. He allows himself to be walked down, gives up too much ground, doesn't punch his weight and i'm not sure about his boxing IQ either. If he improves in certain areas he can be very good. Sometimes you look at some of the stuff he does and he looks impressive, but doesn't sustain it for an extended period. I like him, but not sold yet.
He looks good. There are still a few errors that he makes in his game but nothing that he can't polish up on with some hard work and more experience
C+ fighter. He has been around for a little while so he should have looked excellent in front of Lujan. I mean, he is going to fight Bailey for the vacant title so he may have a chance to win a title.
Sure. But don't take anything away from Lujan. We can't always hold it againast a guy for NOT stopping another fighter.
The guy is decent skill wise and had obvious physical advantages over Lujan...I think he should've looked impressive against Lujan. I just dont see that killer instinct.
Some harsh criticisms of Jones on here......maybe rightfully so. But I think he is very good. Won't be great, although with his size and skills, he probably should be. Someone mentioned killer instinct. I think the 1st JSK fight, and the fact that he almost gave it away may have had an adverse effect in that dept. I wouldn't read too much into the Lujan fight. Lujan is rugged and it's not like Jones struggled at any point. May have played it a bit too safe, but he's not the 1st, or worst at doing that.
I think he can beat Berto because of his size and skill. Ortiz would be competitive and I think even knocks Jones down early, but Mike would use his length and constant jab in his face to frustrate Ortiz and beat him
Man, he is going to need it against Bailey's power. Then again, I really don't know what Bailey has left. Hey, isn't Lujan the guy Margarito almost punched his ear off with his devastating power years back or did that fight fall under concrete?
Good but not anythng to hype up, will not give any of the big dawgs problems. He is not complete and is far from completion. From 1 to 2000 he is 1324.
One of the B tier Welterweights (and their is a lot of them, Brook, Solomon, Aydin, Dan, Kamegai etc.)
