Ok I think you should pause, breathe, and calm down. I want to point something out to you that you might not currently be aware of: You have been dragged into an argument with a known ESB troll. You are taking things he says way too seriously. Also, maybe I should explain my sarcastic response outright, since it obviously left you perplexed (based on your reaction). "What the hell is a Ring Magazine?" I've always loved The Ring. I used to read old issues from the 60's and 70's that my Dad had when I was a kid. Thats where I got my love and knowledge of the sport when I was young. However, we are in a new age dude. All the info in the Ring Magazine that fans used to eat up can now be found on the internet. Not only has the Ring been rendered irrelevant, but the entire Magazine and periodical medium is completely obsolete. Hope that clears it up. :good

"This guy doesn't know what The Ring is?":yikes (mick I'll be answering you within my response to Juicebox) Yeah it's cool man. My dad gave me my first issue of Ring Magazine too and I've loved it ever since then. I definitely feel you about how it helped build your love and knowledge of the sport as a kid too. I was only born in 85 so I can't say I've been reading them since the 60's and 70's but I'm sure with the boxing scene back then, and with magazines being a more prominent medium of information, that The Ring was a much better magazine back then. I can only disagree that The Ring and the entire magazine medium is completely obsolete, even though you are definitely correct that the information available in The Ring is also available in some form on the internet now days. This is just me personally, but I don't think anything beats the tangible item in your hands that you hold and read. I like the illustration of the actual magazine much better too. It's different to look at a printed picture that was taken live at an event on a high definition camera than to look at the pictures on a pixelated screen. Reading everything on the internet is kind of lifeless if you ask me, nothing organic about it, I like having a real thing in front of me to read. It's text and picture on paper, carefully formatted and laid out to create a pleasant reading experience. The internet tries to duplicate this experience by providing an abundance of information at the end of your fingertips, but it never does it as artfully if you ask me. There is definitely an art to producing reading material, all the way from the writing and creation of the stories to providing the best shots of the action and carefully laying it out to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye as well. As for my feeling towards the current feeling towards The Ring magazine, the writing, the coverage, etc...I have no problem with it. I still read plenty of stories that I like, I still love the photography, the fact that it's The Ring magazine and I have it, and I honestly don't have any great criticism of it. I've read plenty of other Boxing oriented magazine before but none of them are as special to me as The Ring. I love boxing so much, to me The Ring isn't just another boxing magazine. It IS the bible of boxing. Some of it is the brand ya know. I've read articles I disagreed with and opinions I didn't like from different writers, it's not like I just accept whatever they throw out there because it's "The Hallowed Ring Magazine", but I do love it for being "The Ring" magazine too. It's the same thing to me as someone loving a Ferrari. It's not just because it's a fast car, you love it because IT IS a Ferrari and part of that love is because of everything that the brand represents to you. That's how I feel about The Ring.
