As "must" as the Rigo and Mares fights are, neither of them would be better victories than Darchinyan @ 112 or Montiel @ 118. Rigo wouldn't even be a better scalp than Nishioka. I rate him as P4P #3 behind only Mayweather and Marquez. Anyone who has anyone other than those two or Ward ahead of him is highly questionable.

he belongs where he is, but to win over naysayers, he'd have to soundly beat the mexican/ mexican american savior in the division, abner mares, then they'd have no choice but to respect him. a rigo win would demand respect as well, but not as much as a comprehensive mares win.
