I see what you mean now. So you think that Rikcy should throw a jab without landing just to keep floyd on his toes? Might not be a bad idea.

Sort of similar to the kind of jab Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson threw. They sometimes threw hard jabs, but often they'd almost deliberately fall short, and just use the jab as cover while they were moving in.

If, for instance, Floyd parries the jab with his right hand, he might give Hatton an opening to the left ribcage. If he ducks under it, he exposes himself to an uppercut or left hook. If he twists his body to the right, he gives Hatton a free shot at his kidneys (with no recourse to the ref). The jab is a great shot for an aggressive fighter to set up openings off of, even if it in itself will be a totally ineffective punch.

I wouldn't want Hatton to be flicking it ALL the time, since PBF would pick up on it, but he should only throw it with significant force if PBF is getting complacent about it. Then, Hatton gets a tasty and impressive scoring punch to the head, which helps since judges tend to like boxers to mix up their punches.

In my humble opinion Floyd can win this fight very easily if he stays to a game plan that is pioneered to have him utilise his best attributes, fast hands and movement , not getting involved and winning a perhaps forgettable decision at range. If Floyd lets his ego get involved and allows himself to endure a physical battle for a second, trust me... Hatton will have won a whole portion of the war and in such an event It may be Floyds demise. Hatton is the winner in a physical fight. He is a tougher person than Floyd of that i have no doubt at all. If Floyd wants to stand in front of Hatton and war it out stupidly he will go in a similar fashion to Pendleton and Castillo breaking to bodyshots deep in the fight.. Its an extraordinary event and i see a way that both can win but it is all down to how each man approaches this fight. Hand on heart .. I can see Hatton upsetting this one , he is too focused and i honestlythink Floyd thinks Hatton is not in his class.. For that he will get a rude awakening..

    Peace.

Floyd - Prove beyond reasonable doubt that there's no space for objections that he might be reluctant to take risks. Now that he acted as a petty tyrant and had to endure every form of unfair vilification with the key aims to receive a six-figure payout n of establishing his own company, he has to deliver or anything short of that can be perceived as a not good enough argument. He has to funnel that high degree of technical sophistication into a relentless plan of aggression and in order to do that, he has to stay in the zone and in the pocket with Hatton like he did against NDou, Sharmba and Bruseles, running risks of taking leg-deadening thwacks. Mayweather should be doubly vigilant at that attack coming from underneath but has to try to breakthrough without anaesthestics over the top with his accurate, sharp right hand repeatedly. If he manages to be half successful at that game early on, Hatton cannot maintain a high moral to launch deliberate onslaughts and will be set into disaster one way or the other.

Hatton - Hatton's main concern has to be his footwork so that he can cut off the ring, make sure that every move he makes, he's right there with a controlled distance and pick his shots, double, triple hooks when coming in. Not less important is Hatton proving he's stronger physically to smother his opponent inside once getting in there, stay there with his head in between his shoulders and slugging it out immediately with rough house tactics, body attacks combined with sharp, short punches to the arms, wrists, chest ( and neck) and just then, following up to the head with maximum leverage. While breaking away safe and pacing himself, Hatton can throw a borderline punch to respond to Mayweather's improper use of the left forearm n elbow and if the referee doesn't intervene. Hatton has to have supreme confidence in his stamina and that he will back up Mayweather to have a reasonable chance to pull it out.
