This was pointed out to him once and he came back with the same response- a clear indication that he doesn't know when his prime was.

You know what, this is a tough call. IMO these were the 2 best at that weight.

Once I get some things settled, I'm looking to buy some material from B(_)LL, as a lot of his footage is very rare. As far as uploading it, he doesn't have a clue how to use Youtube, but says if he ever gets the hang of it, maybe he'll upload some of his footage.

He's also the most knowledgable poster on the lower weight classes(along with SS, Mantequilla, and Drew101) on this site, so I'm sure he has footage of Johnson as well.

Sounds like he should make a little business here. I would gladly pay for some footage. I'm not much one for ordering from those sites and would rather give the cash to him.

I know that a lot of other posters would too.

Yes, I'm in talks with him right now, but have to get some **** settled with my Paypal and bank account first. Just message him about it. He has a lot of buyers, but he's a great guy, and should have no problem getting you hooked up in time. His collection is truly astonishing.

Not sure if you've seen him post, but he's got to be the most knowledgable on this site in terms of simply knowing every era, weight class(especially the lower weight classes), story, etc. It's no wonder with access to footage like he has. He rarely posts because he's just not interested in talking about the Leonards, Hagler, etc. I've gotten into guys like Shozo Saijo, Soo Hwan Hong, Chan Hee Park, Yoko Gushiken, Myung Yoo Wuh, Masao Ohba, etc because of interest brought out in his posts.

It was not a robbery, though neither fighter looked that great. I remember from that fight Whitaker's impressive elusive skills but I really cannot remember Whitaker on the attack. I'd have to watch it again but when you can't remember a single meaningful punch from am atg that says a lot. Whitaker/Chavez was a robbery for sure. Not just saying this cuz I thought DLH won the fight, I don't think he did. But I don't think Whitaker deserved it either. To bad you can have a draw in boxing and declare two winners but you can't have something where you can declare two loosers.

Yes, I have it. I am not 100% sure how he feels about me giving out all of his info, so I'd be more comfortable if you just messaged him. I doubt he'd have a problem showing you though. The list takes up about 60 pages on Microsoft word, going straight down.

Oscar hit nothing but the air, got knocked down, and outlanded. This was his first gift. It was the least of Whitaker's robberies but still was a robbery.

Terrible fight, a tie in suckiness. You can see it as the first Oscar gift or the first Oscar fight that made people want to slit their wrists.

Exactly. I was going to make a list of about 2 or 3 fights to start with, picking very conservatively, and ended up with about 21 chosen. Again, picking very conservatively.

Were talking that has a few official losess and a draw but may have been beaten only once to Trinidad at the end of his career.
I know you will all disagree with me but Whitaker is my #1 pound for pound.
He had sublime skills and he won titles at 135, 140, 147 and 154. The only thing he lacked was power except at 135 where he had decent power. On 28 light weight fights he was 27-1 with 14 knockouts his only loss is viewed historicaly as one of the worst decisions in the history of the sport.
I think a Whitaker/Robinson match would be intreging. I think Robinson is the best offensive boxer in the history of the port and Whitaker is no worse than #3 at defense plus he was a very good offensive boxer him self. I think Whitaker could out work Robinson.
Another intreging prespcitive opoent is Ray Leonard. There are certan boxers who simpiy knowhow to win and Ray Leonard is one of them and for that reason even though I would favor Whitaker a Ray Leonard win is not imposible.
It would take a master boxer who could hit and dictate the course of a fight to even be consered good enough to be favored to beat a prime Whatiker. The only boxer that i can think of is Benny Leonard. I've read a lot about Benny Leonard and by all the acounts that I have come across he was as complete of a fighter as they come he had all the skills thea Whitaker had and could hit for power when he wanted to. I would favor Leonard in a very close match.
Whitaker vs Benny Leonard at 135 is my #1 prime for prime dream match up. I think it would come down to who was beter that night.
To who ever started this threed i would like to think you for allowing me to praise my two favrote boxers Benny Leonard and Pernell Whitaker in the history of the sport.
