At the time that he turned down the 8 million to fight Margarito the Oscar fight was not on the table yet.

    Beat JMM

    Beat Pac-Man

Beat Shane, Cotto, or Clottey (Whichever one is top WW at the time)

    Fight Paul at 154

Just win a belt at 160.

Makes him top 3 at least if not #1.

First, become a totally different and much better fighter.

Then, build a time machine, go back to his starting year, and start taking on all the very very best comp available.

Only if he did those two things could he ever be the GOAT.

And sadly neither of them are possible.

No matter what Floyd does now he can never equal the skill of a Pernell Whitaker, nor equal the resume of an Ezzard Charles.

If he does all that, I will not argue that he isnt the best ever but some will.

Mayweather is easilly on the same tier as the other greats like Whitaker based on skills, its the retirement bull**** & the Cotto/Margo/Mosely/Williams scenario that hurts him most but if he pulled off what the TS suggested, he has a VERY strong case for the no1 spot.
He is already an ATG in his prime weight (SFWT) & a legit 5 weight champion... if he added all that other ****, he is easilly ahead of guys like Whitaker.

If he did that he would have a serious case for top 5 atg.

If he did all that crazy **** all the way up to middle then his resume would shoot him up significantly..He wont but if he did then he would obviously be very high up there.

Problem is though he still isnt the kind of fighter that majority of say the top 25 alltime are..Though I would have him probably H2H just about the greatest dedicated (as in someone who forged a significant part of their career there) superfeather ever, even better then Arguello..He does not enjoy that same distinction at light, not even at jnr-welter and certainly not at welter.
He would get soudly beaten by most of the top 10 lightweights ever, maybe more.

As DINAMITA said, he would have to be a better fighter then he has or is now to be regarded as an equal among those fighters.
Thats not to say he is one of the best fighters of his era and one of the better athletic specimans, defensive specialists and overall fighters I have seen but I have just seen better.... and those are the men who fill those spots.

Have another 200 fights, win most of them and fight tougher comp.
    Can't see it happening myself.

Fight one of the top welterweights will do it for me. Forget about Manny. Manny ain't a welterweight.
