From the Oxford dictionary which when it comes to the English language is THE dictionary:

    verb
    [with object]
1 provide (a room or area) with a floor:
a room floored in yellow wood
    (as adjective, in combination -floored)
    a stone -floored building
2 informal knock (someone) to the ground , especially with a punch
    baffle (someone) completely:
    that question floored him

Look.In boxing nearly everyone looks at floored as going down on your ass.

What Michigan said can be used, but really shouldn't.

    That's all.

It can, if you barely grasp the language....

But if we're talking boxing, and someone says he just dropped a huge bomb... I'm more than certain everyone won't start running..

No it can't be used. Nobody else in the history of the world has ever thought that floored meant to be physically stunned.

So you spoke to everyone in the world?

    Wow, that's pretty cool.

Did you also hit up that last man from a tribe in Brazil? I hear he's hard to find.

'cause they are about you that's why they are not funny (to you), and who said I was joking? Or are you trying to own people again? And if the whole forum is poking fun at ya, it's understandable that you're not smiling anymore :D

Patience is the only thing I can say, I admit I'm too lazy these weeks to do any scanning, just be patient as if you're waiting for Toney to actually fight (don't dare to say he fights next week)

And try to think about the definition of 'to floor' in terms of what people are kindly (some less kindly) trying to teach you. It's not that hard to admit you're narrow minded about that one :good

Floored = Knocked down. You are the only one to use floored in the context you do. STFU moron.

Come on Eze. I know he's a Floyd fan and all. But no it can't be said in boxing. Because in boxing those things happen literally and with great frequency. Stunned and floored. When someone says floored in an every day context it's different, it's not in a literal sense. In boxing it just sounds extremely redundant and wrong to say it in the non-literal way.

Do you agree or disagree that Michigan wants to save face and knows he's wrong in this one? Just answer this last question :good

I already voted. I merely said it can, but shouldn't. And it really shouldn't, unless you're drunk and stumbling over your words.

Not in that particular (physical) meaning, as in being KD. An idea can floor (stun/daze) ya, in figurative sense, as if you're KD in your head by that idea.

It's the same as: "give him a punch" (as in hit him). You're not gonna give somebody a glass of delicious punch out of the punchbowl, claiming that it has that meaning too, and you could use it in that sense...

To floor someone is to stun or to shock in some way. Something that occurs in boxing all of the time. The dictionary makes no distinction between from the literal or non-literal translation of the word. Does boxing have its own dictionary somewhere that Im not aware of?

Could care less about saving face. The debate was about boxing, some loser named lufcrazy who I own repeatedly in our Dirrell vs Froch threads made it into something it wasnt. THis is hilarious to me. 200+ votes for what floored means. If I posted a legit thread about a fight with a poll you'd get 100 if you're lucky. SHows how **** this forum is really.
