What does the term "floored" mean to you

Tbh the term floored can mean "stunned", but not in the context of boxing where the term "floored" is used so literally to mean "to have been knocked to the canvas (floor)". When people used "floored" to mean "stunned" it's usually a metaphor for "it knocked me to the ground (floor)" e.g.

"The news of his death floored me", means "The news of his death might as well have knocked me to the ground", like "the news of his death knocked me for six", "the news of his death blew me away" etc.

Applying the term to boxing doesn't work 'cause people use it the term literally and then confusion ensues and 19 page threads are started.

 

Let's take a leaf out of Michigan's book, & not overthink this ****, eh?

But I guess, Michigay is right. Afterall he called Mayweather the best pressure fighter in the world. Who are we to argue with such wisdom!

 

First off, this is 50 pages. And everything you said has been acknowledged in this thread already. Apparently this MW poster has not been too friendly to some so this is their payback.

 

This thread has got nothing to do with MW being friendly or not to anyone. This thread was made because he made arguably the stupidest statement ever made on ESB. It was so ridiculous it deserved a thread of its own. This is not a vendetta against the guy, its not his fault he's ******ed enough to make such a stupid statement.
