He is already close. The Super Six helped him get a lot of big fights fast...On the other hand he also took care of business so fast that .. now what? Although Hopkins may not be the best at 168 or 175 any longer, a dominating win over Hopkins would look very very nice on Ward's CV in terms of ATG. Hopkins has said publically that the only one he would hate to get in the ring with in Ward. He feels that Ward has Hopkins' style down better than Bernard himself does.. But Ward should try to lure Hopkins to take the fight...
pretty much this.... if he can snag another 168 belt, that'd be good. Lots of politics behind the scene on that though, about impossible to line up all 4 belts...
as Bailey said earlier, he missed a great opportunity fighting an undefeated champion, Bute. That win would have greatly boosted his relevancy now. He should get that fight before going 175, though the win is slightly tainted...
Might have helped had Bute entered the super 6 in the first place. Bute would actually be twice the fighter he is today had he taken part.
how much credit will he get for beating hopkins I wonder because I don't think he will get full credit unless he dominates hopkins and hopkins also need to look at his best.
Hes not an ATG at the moment ,i wouldent even consider him a hall of famer either ( Hes def on his way though). I say he should move up to 175 and unified all 4 titles .
