This is the point I've been trying to get the "work rate" guys to see. John David Jackson said it best; "An ass whoopin' don't mean **** to Kelly Pavlik. Kelly's comin'." And then Nazim said something very similar between rounds; "Keep choppin' - an ass whoopin' don't mean **** to this guy -- he learned to fight gettin' his ass whooped comin' up -- keep choppin'."

Up to this point I get the impression that George Peterson does not "get" Pavlik nearly as well as John David, Nazim, and Bernard did. That, my friend, may well prove to be Paul's undoing.

Don't know if that would have been a good recipe if he was trading with Double A pipe:deal:good

I think Pavlik's interviews show that he's very strategically acute; I don't think he would have looked to mix it up with AA.

i disagree w/ the how the judges had the scorecards prior to the stoppage in jt I (as did bhop) but that is a perfect example. be that as it may, double digit unaswered shots...twice as hard as anything pw will throw...and pav still wore his man down and knocked him out even after being put on the canvas and being behind on the cards.

You are most likely correct, Sir. The whole idea with that plan against Miranda was to put him on the back foot, something Miranda had NOT done before as he'd been terrorizing the MW division on his rise to title shots.

AA LIKES to fall back and cover, then wait for his opportunity to strike, so yeah, Pav would have had to play it much different in being patients and "pecking" away from well outside.:good

I had Jermain one point up going into the 7th. I gave KP the 1st, 3rd, and 6th rounds. I gave JT the 2nd, 4th, and 5th. However, in the 4th and 5th you could see the fight was Pavlik's fight. Manny Steward said the same thing in the post fight presser: "The fight was movin' strictly for Kelly."

He's no faster than Taylor, and nowhere near as accurate.

Maybe he(Pavlik) has faced all of the qualities that Williams brings, at one point or another in his career. But never against one fighter in a single fight, Williams is fast, freakisly long, a volume puncher, and has incredible stamina. Williams by decision, it will be a good action packed fight.

I disagree with your conclusions, but I think you are the first poster who gave the correct answer. In my original post I said PW presents "a unique package," and that is the right answer.

Yeah D, I need to stop evaluating the fight in mind a million times. Majority of the times, I see AA actually beating JT, but at times, I look at the fight against Pavlik 2 and if that JT comes to fight, it could be a long night for AA. I honestly think KP looked better in the JT 2 fight, boxed more which I presume surprised a lot of people.

Ya Buddy! The vast majority expected a slightly shorter and less dramatic version of the first fight. People still don't beleive Pavlik can box a bit!
