Different fighters, weight classes and Whitaker is Whitaker.

Whtaker fought a younger Oscar at 147. Floyd fought an older Oscar at 154. Floyd left with the win but Whitaker didn't leave with the swollen eyes.

    Effective aggression - who ?
Telling blows - Oscar ? Come on. Even Oscar agrees he lost. Did you know that Paul Williams officially beat Erislandy Lara ? :nut You logic is flawed and hints at dislike of Floyd or you could be just a complete idiot.

Whitaker is Whitaker. Different fighters. Some cut, some bleed, some swell and others show no marks.

Have you ever seen Floyd like that? Even in the Castillo fight? Had Oscar kept jabbing, he may have closed one up and had a chance to win. They didn't call Floyd pretty boy for nothing. He's not used to that so it could've changed the outcome of the fight.

He should have kept jabbing until 12, then.

He lost the last 3 rounds when it was fairly even the first 8 or 9.

Oscar won the 12th. That's when he busted Floyds nose up.

One thing is for sure. Against an old DLH, Floyd failed to look spectacular.

    He looked almost ordinary.

He's looked much better in recent fights, although, we really don't know how good he is.

Against Ortiz, he was landing his right cross regularly, but he was also missing more punches than seem to be indicated by the statistics.

His workrate was also higher than Ortiz, but Ortiz managed to land several body shots in the process.

While Floyd's shots looked devestating when replayed, perhaps they weren't hurting Ortiz to the extent they seemed.

We don't know how all this would play out in the remainder of the fight due to the way it ended so abruptly, but Floyd did look strong, tough, and violent, but he didn't look untouchable.

Regardless, you can see that Floyd at least appears better now than he did when he fought Oscar. There is a possibility that comes down to the way his opposition matches up with him.

    Anyway...

    That's my take.

Point is, I think floyd knows Roach has his number. If pac man was under a different trainer I highly doubt we'd be waiting this long for a fight

He was well above his natural weight...and he easily outboxed Oscar.
