what happened to joe mesi? I remember he was a real good prospect and his record on boxrec is still undefeated, but he hasnt fought for a year. did he die?
He got a blood clot in his brain from a blow he received late in his fight with a young Monte Barrett. He got medically suspended soon after the results of the brain scan became public and his career was pretty much over. He had some skills and was a real warrior in the ring but his body proved too fragile for pro-boxing at its highest level.

Didnt he get cleared to fight again and have one comeback fight? After reading the wikipedia it appears he has had several fights since getting hematoma'd. Anyone else think that might be a bad idea?

I hope he stays retired. He's been fighting bums since Jirov and was just wasting his time and padding a record. He will get seriously hurt fighting a top 10 heavyweight.
