Cotto will fight Margarito (guaranteed) in Puerto Rico or MSG
Pacquaio will face JMM in a 3rd money fight
Floyd will either retire or take on Mosley to get a grip back on his legacy

    Just my guess

I doubt it would happen but if it does that would prove Marquez fights well at the higher weight and a fight with Cotto would be good.

If JMM pulls a W over PBF, PAC=JMM legacy wise (i think). JMM will be the next JCC, higher than Barrera/Morales, etc.

If Pac loses to Cotto, sure he will fall under p4p top spot, many will think pac was too overrated, cotto was too underrated etc.

Well all this will all depend after their respective fights. and these are just all IFs....

well, tbh, vs. Pacquiao... I would've slightly leaned towards the Cotto who went into the Mosley fight. He was versatile. He could box & bang. He was improving. He was getting a lil faster. He wasn't flat-footed anymore like he was a fair bit at 140. After the Margarito-beating... he's hasn't shown us that form I'm talking about. So sadly, the bookies & everyone interested in this fight, HAVE to make Cotto a sizeable underdog despite his size advantage & the virtue he has of being a LIVE welterweight. He just hasn't looked good of late, though!

^It's a 50/50 fight for pac-cotto. Each fighter has its advantage, and Im 100% sure Cotto will not be weight drained come fight night as many here on esb thinks due to that disputable 2lbs under the limit ****.

^for JMM-PBF, huge advantage for Mayweather and he may KO JMM on later rounds, as JMM bloats up and makes his various arsenal useless while PBF on his usual self but experience-wise, 2 years off-the-ring would pose a problem. (But I hope JMM wins though)

^ if JMM wins, JMM-Pac 3; PBF retires for good!

^if Cotto wins, Cotto-Mosley 2; Pac retires and runs for Congress (NO!) or fight Pac-JMM 3

^If PBF wins, PBF-Pac; JMM loses and fights vs LWW title holders.

^If Pac wins: PBF-Pac; Cotto still has more good fights vs Mosley, Clottey2, Marg2, PWill

~ It's not 50/50, I'm afraid. Cotto's advantages come in size, only. He's reverted to the flat-footed Cotto of late and will be too slow to catch Manny with that patented left-hook [[here's to hoping he finds the real motivation & fire in his heart for this one!]]

~ Floyd KO'ing JMM is unlikely if Juan Manuel is in shape (always is). If Manny couldn't KO Juan Manuel after 3 knockdowns in their first fight... I promise you, it's super unlikely that Floyd will. After all, Manny hits like a middleweight. Floyd doesn't hit as hard as many other top welterweights!

~ You think Floyd won't fight tooth & nail for a re-match? Come on.
[he may even already have a re-match clause in the contract somewhere! hah]

~ Manny won't retire like this. If he can fight Marquez, he'll look to fight JMM. If he is unable to fight JMM after losing to Cotto... then he will fight Floyd & Floyd will play ball if he can't get a re-match with JMM.

~ Yes, right there. Though he may fight Cotto in June 2010 on weekend of the Puerto Rican day parade if Cotto has a 147lb world title back by then

~ agree about Cotto's future fights in that scenario

You forget one thing, though, if Cotto wins & Floyd wins... as long as Cotto doesn't look TOO amazing vs. Manny, then Floyd will finally agree to fight Cotto ($$$ & he will feel safe about winning). He'd rather fight Cotto than Mosley, tell you that much.

I think it would. They would both be coming off wins over the 2 biggest names in the sport and both were somewhat popular themselves to begin with plus you got the whole Mexico PR rivalry thing going.

    indeed.

and on top of that, he sits back & let's genuine challengers fight other genuine challengers and lose.. and eliminate each other.

Yes, he would have been beaten Margarito if they ever fought.. but fact is they never did and Floyd ducked him for what 5-7 years??

Cotto was the next big thing & he kept turning that **** down.

Mosley had been calling for it for so long and all Floyd could do is say he isn't an attraction (hey, floyd, nor were you pre-Oscar... and we've yet to see how much you sell on your own.. w/o Oscar or Hatton!), says he has 5 losses on his record (sure he does but to 5 ppl Floyd would never have fought!), he's a cheater & he turned down a fight with the Prettyboy years ago. **** reasoning.

Then luckily for him, they all beat each other.
Cotto beats Mosley. Margarito beats Cotto & Mosley Margarito.

Then he says, "they all beat each other" hence crossing them off knowing that he won't have to face any of them now for a long time, if ever...

    what a ****. Great talent. but what a ****.

This is why I feel Mosley should be spoken of in the same breath as DLH, Manny & B-Hop as generational greats behind that untouchable prime-RJJ. Shane went out n got after it... he really has fought all the best he possibly could. He deserves more respect than he gets from the wider boxing community.
