Said nobody is dying of cancer but being counted as covid nonsense.

Just imagine if you had lost someone to cancer or covid and seeing some boxer trying to claim they are now part of some grand evil plan.

 

To see him go back through his Tweets and delete all his anti-mask tweets (of which there were many) and then post his TTT branded masks for sale was a bit strange...

Not a good look for him...

 

I said on previous threads that the guy is clearly a spiteful guy but that is probably something that adds to his abilities in the ring.

With boxers the vast majority of them are pretty ignorant. When you read private comments that they make it really makes you dislike them as people.

I try to separate any of that from how they perform in the ring. I just watch them fight and leave it at that. Very, very few boxers can be classed as role modes IMO. Same applies to athletes in all sports really.

 

There was a thread on here a few months back, I forget the users name now but he interviews British fighters. It's decent enough content and hats off to the guy but he had one thread were he interviewed Danny McIntosh and I battled through the bellendery of McIntosh the person until he rabbited on about Covid and then I was done. Too many people believe the rubbish idiots post on social media or the stuff the experts on building sites say, mastering the art of mixing cement and shoddily putting it with bricks makes you an expert in everything, I've come to realise.

 

I have my own reservations regarding the whole situation, but I don't think that it's worth wasting energy on.

I can't stand Taylor. I've known far too many people like him in my life. It would be sweet to see him get sparked at some point. He is a good boxer, though, so who knows if that will happen.

 

The covid stuff is just distasteful and lacks self awareness,people are gonna be angry at some of the stuff because it's a sensitive issue I just don't understand why do it knowing you're going to invite criticism.just really poor taste imo and this coming from someone who's paid money more than once to watch him fight.

 

I agree with your post, but I'd like to point out that the entire mainstream media-derived concept that an athlete should be a role model is utterly preposterous. I'm not saying that you have personally stated as much, mind. It's something I've read up on a lot over the years as I think it's a fascinating topic. Most well-known athletes endorse things like materialism and status, at a minimum, and then you have athletes who are also thugs, or just scum in general.

 

I doubt he's "liked" anywhere.

 

Yeah totally agree, the perception that people like athletes, musicians and actors are role models and have a responsibility to behave like role models is just total nonsense. By all means be inspired by their craft, abilities and talent but that’s all.

Agree he's not likeable, but as a fit youngster it's unlikely Covid would bother him much, if at all. It's simply not a serious illness for most people. The ridiculous overreaction to this relative mild virus is beyond farce. I know several people who've had their lives destroyed, even terminated, by the ridiculous overreaction to this virus, none by the actual virus itself.

 

I think people fail to take into account the sheer devastation if we never locked down with them arguments len. I m not sure the death figure atm...but its past 100,000 deaths. They argue theres deaths everyday anyway...but what if we listened to the conspiracy theorists and never locked down. Pretty sure we,d be looking at a ridiculous amount of deaths on our hands.

Hospitals are starting to fill up now. Patients being moved hospital to accomodate other patients etc.

I,ve knew quite a few guys and girls in their 30,s hospitalised with it. Had a 50 year old neighbour having it at the very beginning...still not right yet. Quite a few other people in their 40/50,s been ill for months with it with no sign of full recovery. Quite a few peoples grans and grandparents dying with it.

Thats with the restrictions. Most people are wearing masks...and not really socialising and still the figures are high. What would it be like if we listened to the conspiracy theorists and never locked down pretty sure we,d be looking at a catastrophe. We,re on the verge of that now...with the lockdowns etc.

I know its hard times for people...hate to think how bad it would have been without ghe lockdown tho. The figures coming in atm are scary.
