That's because Holyfield was considered a shot fighter since 1994 by many people.

And no, Lennox' performance against Mercer wasn't bad at all. It was really good, Lennox put together great combinations and fought well on the inside. The main reason that the fight was so competitive is that Mercer had much better jab than Lewis. Pre-Steward version of Lennox could have very well lost against 1996 version of Mercer.

Would you like a matching bra with your panties, sir? My lord, this thread topic is regarding Lennox Lewis in 1996, you don't think his only ****ing fight that year is going to be brought up? For ****'s sake, draw a bubble bath and cut your wrists as you cry about how we are all being so unfair to Lennox Lewis.

    :nono

And Holyfield/Mercer has been brought up several times in this thread, you ****ing idiot. I've addressed the fight and you have yet to responded with anything but this crybaby horse****.

    Lets talk boxing, Crybaby Puncher.

Getting outboxed by Mercer's jab, Evander turns the tide of the fight by bombing left hooks over the top. Of course, a year out of the ring or more, Holyfield has some stamina problems in this fight and struggles to keep the aggression consistent but look when he does:

Left hook party at 1:12 hurts Mercer:

3 minutes in, Holyfield gets his second wind and starts working the left hook again, dropping Mercer for first in his career.

This would have been a cross roads fight betwwwn the demishing Mike Tyson and the still coming into his own Leonex Lewis.
History (Ali/Holmes & Louis/Marcinao) tells us that the young guy Lewis would win.

Far from me crying you're the one having a ***** fit while everyone lulz at you muppet. Your vagina is permantly filled with sand, you're the biggest cry baby ***** on this forum that cries when anyone makes the slightest criticism of the white fighters you cheerlead

Just because you 'addressed Holyfield/Mercer' means **** all because you know **** all about the sport, what happened to you addressing Moorer/Bowe, forget about that, agenda much?

-I don't know about that, several posters who I have had harsh(all in godo fun) words with in the past is even seeing things my way on this one. Are you refering to yourself as "everyone?" you crazy crybaby ******* you.

-I cheerlead as well as poke fun at fighters of all races, creeds, and sexual orientation. Its not my problem if you hate whitey or want his green eyed baby in your belly.

-How is Moorer and Bowe relevant to this topic? :hi: Funny, you can't retort my analysis of Holyfield/Mercer. I know "**** all"? Well, explain why Tyson wouldn't be able to find Mercer with his left hook?

I don't think Mike would do well vs. Lewis past 1988.

Nah dude, that was what their actually fight was in 2002.

Tyson was still young and in good shape here. Obviously no where near his peak, but he had enough to beat Lewis.

Ray Mercer sucks. He was just a punch bag.
