I originally picked Mayweather by stoppage ... I think his body attack is far superior than Mosley's.

I'm sticking with my prediction ... Margarito is too hittable and would leave himself open for some powerful potshots ... he's alot slower than Floyd and less skilled.

    Mayweather TKO 11

I also picked Mosley to beat Margarito by decision with the opition of a stoppage.

Underestimated???:rofl:lol: ****ing hilarious these Margo nuthuggers will say anything now that their hero has been vanquished. What they fail to understand is that he was never that good to begin with and made a name for himself off of PBF.:deal Margo was nothing more than a tool used by PBF haters as a way to try and discredit him now he's gone I'm sure they'll just find someone else. Margo is a joke and a cheat he's finished.

I can't speak for Mayweather, Surreal, but it seems to me he wanted no part of a former promoter in Arum who had just slagged him so badly in the press and was being a non-stop dick. He also didn't think that Margarito had much cred (rightly or wrongly) - though maybe after the Cotto fight he changed his views a bit. I agree that nothing could be a proper substitute for embarassing Margarito in the ring himself, but all the hype about "fear" at the time was totally misplaced. I don't hand PBF the easy win by proxy via Mosley either - I judge on it my own viewpoints related to the styles and disparity in speed and skill involved. And it isn't as though I have changed my tune, as you know. Shane just added a bit of validation by smoking Margarito and doing it with ease. Short of making a mistake and getting hit with a Plaster-of-Paris bomb :yep, Floyd Mayweather beats Margarito and does so possibly by shutout decision. That's just how I have always seen it. No-one convinces me otherwise. For my money, the much better fight is between PBF and Pacman. It may sound strange given that Margarito routinely weighs at least 160 at the bell and Pacman is around 143, but I see Manny's far superior skill and speed as troubling Mayweather a lot more than anything a slow, modest skills fighter like Margarito can ever offer. :good

I would add that a fight between Mosley himself and PBF would also be a definite must-see at this stage. I think Floyd takes an 8-4, 7-5 type of win should it happen.

Now looking back at it Fitz you have a point. I don't think PBF would have knocked Margo down and out but I do think he would have been stopped from accumalation or a corner stoppage. He simply would have been hit by too many clean hard shots that he wouldn't even have seen comming. PBF couldn't miss with a big walking target like Margo.

Anyone that thought MArgarito was a great boxer is a moron. Margarito has always been a guy that uses his will and physical presence on you. He usually loses the first 6 rounds cause the other guy is just faster and better boxer. Then he comes on breaking the guy down. And comes on strong down the stretch while others fade. I wouldn't call him a joke or finished cause he is still a player in this division. He will just never be a great boxer or godlike like some people were saying.

Good post but I will disagree with you here. He usually starts slow because he knows that the plaster in his gloves needs time to harden and take effect. So his punches do much more damage in the 10th round than they do in the 1st.:good

I recall many saying that PBF would not only be unable to beat Hatton's pressure style and toughness, but that he had little to no chance of stopping him either. Floyd knocked Hatton TFO and he did so when an opportunity he knew was coming arrived, with pinpoint precision. I don't think Mayweather has a lot of hope in beating Margarito by stoppage, but stranger things have happened. You saw a fighter completely exhausted and perplexed by skill and speed last weekend, and that can lead to strange conclusions. More likely is a very, very wide UD win for Mayweather.

Pre Mosley Pre Cotto I think Margarito takes it, I think the Cotto fight took something out of Margarito, if that didnt take anything out I know the last six solid shots on the chin Mosley landed on Margarito did.

I dont think Margarito can come back from a loss like this I think Mentally he will never be the same after being decked like that, from here on out IMO any win that Tony does get would be a shocker to me.

The man just spent two years getting hit clean by all the top welters in the divison I think its safe to say he needs a long rest, but I do also beleive that he just didnt think Mosley was going to come fight, I think he under estemated Mosley.

Its not that surprising that he ko'd hatton (hatton had been hurt a few times before) but to say that he woulda ko'd margarito is just silly. Its just an extention of their love for mayweather as a fighter not an abjective look at what probably would of happened. Realistically Mayweather would have pot shotted his way to very wide ud

If by the 10th round, Margarito is down 10-0 and is showing wear ... Uncle Roger is going to tell Floyd to go in for the kill.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

I guess tossing 100+ punches per round is a strategy to expedite the production of sweat and hasten the "setting" process. :yep
