I must admit, this question had me laughing my friggin' ass off. However, after the second Duran-Leonard fight Ring magazine did a piece on the whole macho thing and Duran's reasoning for bailing and a number of other things. And they also dwelled on Duran having to take a dump. They brought up an example. Back in the late '50s I think there was a real Mexican idol named Jose 'Toluca' Lopez who was apparently very talented but wa a partying fiend. Anyway, he takes on a dude named Willie Parker I think and Toluca is absultely hungover. In the 7th he takes a bodyshot and the previous night's festivities come running down the legs. I think the fight was stopped. The piece did mention he whipped himself into great shape for the rematch and easily outpointed Parker. But, that has to be an unbelievable amount of embarrassement. Toluca should be happy there was no youtube back in the day. I think he died young from alcoholism.

There's at least one case of a high-profile boxer giving up in mid-fight, because he "had to go":

In 2006 former WBA welterweight champion Andrew Lewis, ahead on all cards, left the ring in the 7th round of a 12-rounder against Denny Dalton, because of an urgent need to use the restroom. Lewis blamed his stomach discomfort on a pre-fight milkshake (BoxRec)

Dalton was declared the winner on a TKO.

Gene Fullmer claimed he had "dysentery" when he fought Dick Tiger the first time.

Now watch the later portion of this video:

Is that **** on the seat of Fullmer's trunks?

I'm always able to hold my **** up for absurd amount of times....
It does get easier after a while though, except pissing.

But for the ones who dislike me that might be why you think I'm always so full of ****.

Amusing thread title, but actually quite an interesting question.

I've wondered about the same thing, but with drivers taking part in endurance racing, where they spend hours behind the wheel at a time. I would imagine though, that it's a lot easier to hold it in driving a car than it is taking a punch in the guts.
