What's the issue with breaks in the UNIVERSAL lineage and not breaks in the rest of the world lineages? Theres breaks in all world linages OF universal WBC IBF RING WBO WBA
TBRB ESPN BAD LEFT HOOK BOXING NEWS prodomitly is dictated who the consensus no1 and no2 are today. However atleast 2 out of the 4 publications must have the same no1 and no2 to qualify for a vacant universally acclaimed no1 recognition
Yes, there are and it's pretty much the point. What's so pure about that lineal title thing if it's not really lineal and has more loopholes to go through as a mere alphabet belt?
I think most consider Wlad becoming the lineal champion Vs Povetkin. I have never heard anyone say it was the Chagaev fight.
The ring recognised Wlad as their champion for beating Chagaev, as it was #1 vs. #3, and because #2 was his brother. TBRB didn’t exist at the time, but they disagreed with this and recognised Wlad after beating Povetkin in October 2013 as it was #1 vs #2. However, this was arguably a bit forced as in order to get Povetkin to #2 they had to take out Vitali and Haye for inactivity after only 1 year each. Their August 2013 list had Povetkin at #4. Boxrec list Wlad as lineal champion following the Chagaev fight. LinealBoxingChampion.com also picks the Chagaev fight. Cyber Boxing Zone also picks the Chagaev fight.
The 4 publications he selected have the following at Heavyweight: TBRB - 1) Usyk 2) Fury ESPN - 1) Fury 2) Usyk BAD LEFT HOOK - 1) Fury 2) Usyk BOXING NEWS - 1) Usyk 2) Fury I would add the following: BOXREC - 1) Fury 2) Usyk RING - 1) Usyk 2) Fury SPORTSRATINGS - 1) Fury 2) Usyk So no, there is no consensus #1, but everyone agrees who the top 2 are.
