It will be a great feat for Hopkins to beat Calzaghe and move up to HW and beat Haye. That would really put his name among the best ever in the sports.

But I don't think he can get past Calzaghe. Too much pressure and handspeed for Hopkins. Plus Calzaghe has the size, stamina and skills.

Hopkins.. the most boring champ since John Ruiz. Lets give him a place in history..next to the pet rock.

    Wrong, wrong, and wrong.

Calzaghe cannot do everything Hopkins can do. Hopkins is by far the superior tactician and Hopkins is a much better defensive fighter and overall, a much more versatile fighter. Simply put, Hopkins is the more complete fighter.

Additionally, Hopkins's punching technique is far superior to that of Calzaghe.

Geee, so anyone who thinks Hopkins is going to outclass Calzaghe has "no boxing knowledge whatever"?

    Enlighten me then, bucko.

Hopkins is funny but he's hiding his fear of Calzaghe!

I will debate this if a fight between the two is agreed.

No This is not debatle imo. It is a fact. But how many guys do you see punching correct and still lose? Exactly , a alot. It's not HOW you win.

That of course doesn't mean that I am saying Hopkins is gonna lose.
But hopkins is more complete and his punching are technicaly more perfectioned.

If a fight between the two is agreed, I'll happily engage in friendly banter in the lead-up to the bout, but once the bout is signed, we needn't debate much longer.

My views will be vindicated in the form of a lopsided Hopkins victory.

bernard's true feelings bubbling under here, he is attracted to joe, and just doesn't want a pretty boy to bash him up, it threatens his masculinity. this is most disappointing.

as c_h_j said in another thread, you may as well up joe's record to 45-0 now, he's mentally broken hopkins.

Bottom line--if Joes is as great as Joes nuthuggers feel then bring him to the states where he doesnt have the fanbase. Thats the bottom line. period. if hes that great he will beat bernard in his own backyard. That in itself will kill all the specualtion about Joe not fighting in the U.S.
