    Hopkins, Taylor and Calzaghe are the only three recent fighter's that i can remember holding all four belts.

    Casa is the linear champion and if he gets past Marquez, that's the fight I'd like to see Pacquiao in next up.

    yes, its like calzaghe, he didn't technically unified all major belts because he vacated one but we all knew he did unify.

    Casamayor was the linear champ but **** that, we all know he isn't and for now it is campbell:yep

    Campbell alone. Not guz. if guz only 1 title: campbell 3.
    Pac beats campbell alone: he will get 4 world titles tying b-hop in 1 division. Plus the first filipino to ever unify world titles. Not a single one since pancho villa (understandable since there was no abc belts back then) to florante condes ever acheievd this feat! Understandable that pac is facing valero coz there won't be enough time for nate or guz or even jmm or casa to train. Nov.8 is the sched and there fights is on sept, leaving then at least only 1 month to 6 weeks to prepare! What would the pacterons say if manny beat them all? That theire fighters don't have enough time to prepare where as manny has 4 months of hiatus!
    Plus there are a lot of good fights in the 135. Yet it seems after paulie, hatton hinted a farewell fight bet. hoya or pac! If that is so, and since team pacquiao and pac himself is only interested at money fights, i would accept it as a pacfan! I only hope he would go back to 135 after to clean the division and cement further his legacy!

    exactly, and technically calzaghe doesn't count but he did unify

    i can't remember any other fighters who did, hagler did but at that time i think there was no WBO organization yet. It would be really something if a fighter holds all belts, it would be something special, a very special acheivement for me than just a W record against hatton.

    for me unifying all major belts is like the most highest honor there is in boxing like a gold medal. Theres such a long list of fighters moving up in weights, plus some people regard pacquiao as beating a paper champ in david diaz, unifying would silence the critics.

    Lets not also forget pac is looking good right now at 135, sure its david diaz but he's a solid good fighter, tough guy with a decent record and a top 10 LW.

    A little harsh. I'll be the first to criticize Calzaghe's inability to locate his passport but the way he handled Kessler to unify the titles was still impressive no matter where it took place.

    I agree in theory to your statement and it is valid in this instance but i wouldn't say unifying is always the top accolade a figther can achieve in a division. For me beating the top men in the division, whether they hold a belt of not, is more important. But since the top men in the lightweight division hold the belts then yes, if Pac unifies it will be rather special.

    yes, like i said. Campbell might not even be the top guy but its the achievement that counts. People here can't name that many and only hopkins or tarver came to mind of who held all major belts. It would be truly something special if pac does so.

    Was just thinking then, i know it will be hard to set up, but could not this happen in the upcoming year or so..

    Later this year;

    Guzman v Campbell
    Casamayor v JMM
    Pac v TBC (Valero i hear is the favourite up to now)
    Hatton v Mallinaggi

    Early next year;

    Guzman/Campbell winner v Casamayor/JMM winner
    Pac v Hatton

    Mid 2009

    Pac moves back down to 135 to fight the last man standing out of Guzman/Campbell/Casamayor/JMM.

    I know for this to happen then some of the belts will have to be vacated thus stopping the division being unified in name, but us fans would know who is the real top dog at 135 even if that person doesn't hold all four belts.

    Hold your horses dude! Arum says pac will now fight 3x a year. SO he will also fight the other set of lw from the 2 sets of guz-nate and jmm-casa. Hopefully it will be jmm!
    And roach said he will make pac retire when he reaches 30 so i hope the 3rd fight won't be b4 dec.!
    Go pac, go! Make history! Make the pacterons = :|
