Schaefer is on record saying this is an easy fight to make. Probably so he can blame TR when it doesn't get made.
It's a travesty how underrated Mares is on this board. People are on Rigo's nuts when all he did was knockdown some janitor a bunch of times and get dropped by fossil Cordoba Mares has Darchinyan, Agbeko, Morel and Perez on his resume and he gets barely mentioned :-(
Cause most cuban knuckle heads fans are too damn biased to their cuban fighters. Mexican fans shouldnt talk cause they too damn biased to their mexican figters. Freddy is easily the top mexican fan that is WAY WAY WAY TOO BIASED!!
Nonito is to skilled to get schooled easy. IU can tell the skill so dont hate. I think Mares is very good but I still give the edge to Nonito. Has great speed and great power. Lacks some defense but also does Mares. hopefully the fight will happen early next year
He hasn't felt threatened enough. If you put him in there with someone that can test him, you'll see him bring out his best. He adjusted in the last two rounds. He is capable. I would like to see a better body attack though. I don't think Mares can beat him. Mares' defense is not good enough.
Moreno would be a ****ing nightmare for Donaire...I think Donaire could possibly **** in his trunks during the fight.
The guy has 13 fights, where was Donaire when he was at that stage?? he was 12-1 and had fought no one at the level of which Rigo is fighting now Rigondeaux in his last 4 fights as a 13-0 professional has beaten a world title challenger (arguably a world champion) a European champion and a World Champion Yes Rigo is older but coming from Cuba it wasnt exactly easy to turn pro hence why other Cubans havent turned pro til later on in their careers when they defected The only other person I can think of right now who matches a record like this at such an early stage in his career is Beibut Shumenov (13 - 0, 6 title fights)
I suspect Mares will be KO'd quickly so we won't see any of those things. I notice you didn't mention low blows.
SO what's your point? This is Nonito's 2nd fight at 122 and he has fought Vasquez jnr and Mathebula.. Vasquez jnr is a son of a champion. So there's great Pedigree there. Casey is Euro level. Mathebula is one of the tallest 122 in the game right now. Ramos is a JOKE. And I am sure he will fight someone better than Teon Kennedy in his next fight. Believe it or not.Nonito has fought the best at 112, 115 and 118. Although he hasn't fought the best at 122.Wait the **** up! this is his second fight at the weight. Dawg!
Exactly but of all of that Donaire is afraid to fight Rigo? Ok i understand that maybe canelo is afraid of lara ( i dont believe it but i would understand from other ppl if they say otherwise) but donaire afraid of rigo ? Hey didnt donaire wanted to fight the number 1 top cuban gamboa when gamboa was at 126 pounds?
My point is that this is Rigo's 13th fight and hes already a champion with 2 defences under his belt, by any standards of opposition at this level hes doing outstanding The point im trying to make is that Rigo's record isnt padded mainly because he hasnt had enough fights to consider being "padded". He is at world level and should step it up soon but considering Donaire has no interest in fighting him and looks to be tied up with Nishioka next whilst Marquez is fighting Vazquez jr next. Also due to this GBP/TR bull**** I doubt a Mares fight can be made whilst the other top Japanese fighter Masaki Serie is tied up with someone for the OPBF or whatever that only leaves Jorge Acre and Victor Terrazas for him unless a fight with Mathebula can be made. I have nothing against Donaire, personally I think hes a bit of a whiny ***** whipped ***** from what ive seen of him out of the ring buuut i dont tend to judge fighters on their personality. I do however thought he lost his fight with Mathebula but i wouldnt argue with a point either way for either fighter, although Mathebula was never going to win based on those biased scorecards. Donaire has a lot of natural talent but he seems to switch off a lot of the time and come off a bit clumsy but other than that hes a pretty solid fighter but I digress Back to your post however a few arguments and contradictions - RAMOS is a JOKE! - like it or not he was the WBA champion, and again for someones 11th fight i think it was at the time thats a pretty solid win, Teon Kennedy sure he was a soft defence and Casey was coming off winning Prizefighter which is decent feat, Rigo handled him pretty easily I have never questioned Donaire's quality of opposition, just that he hasnt looked that spectacular at 122 and seems reluctant to fight Rigo Also being the son of a great fighter doesnt make them a great fighter (Ronald Hearns, Marvin Frazier etc.) And finally, im probably nit picking but : Believe it or not.Nonito has fought the best at 112, Although he hasn't fought the best at 122.Wait the **** up! Kinda contradicted yourself there :hey Basically this long winded reply is mainly due to being an insomniac who hasnt had his morning coffee . . . . and on that note im putting the kettle on
Well duh donaire hasnt fought the number 1 best fighter at 122 pound yet even though mathe is no easy picking and if you dont believe me? ask caballero. But you forgot 1 thing to mention, this is donaire second fight at 122 pounds and he has publicly already said he wants to fight the true number 1 best fighter at 122 pounds in nishioka. Case can be made that Mares is the best fighter at that same weight class. Rigo in the pros hasnt show at all if he's the number 1 or number 2 best fighter at this weight class until he steps up for better competitions.
