I'm 5'7, 153 pounds. And I'm short for my weight. I would definitely like to get down to lightwelterweight, but even at that weight I would be shorter than most guys.
would you consder yourself built? if your fat or a bit fleshy then you will be surprised by how many pounds you can get rid of. also modern wieght draining methods have helped get guys like nunn pavlik and taylor to wieghts which they couldnt go to previously. remember that 50-60 years ago that men where slightly smaller. robinson was 5'10 maybe 5'11 lamotta 5'8, basillio 5'7, fullmer 5'8,turpin 5'8,carter 5'8,tiger 5'8,hagler 5'9. now surprisingly the middlewiehght average is 5'11 ,6',6'1 even 6'2 we are saying arthur abraham is small even though he barely making 5'10 small guys have an advantage if they use it look at qawi - holyfield as small as he was he could back you up and slip punches easy as hell. pernell whitaker was 5'6 maybe a snudgin over but he was defintly small. he was very competative at any if all the wieghts he fought in. kelvin davis is a good call. good fighter and a nice guy retired becuase of a back injury when he was almost getting killed by a car. robin reid 5'8 167 pounder was a scary guy to face a real tough guy with alot of power and skills with underated defence was a very underated fighter. and was fighting world class opposition for almost a whole 10 years non stop also small doesnt mean you have to be a brawler but can be effective as a slick operator. most of the guys i have noted above are.
I'm 5'5 fighting at 112 , but damn it's so hard to get fights at this weight and 119 is too high for me those guys are a lot bigger than I am
