Since Pacquiao is fighting Mosley instead (yuck), I want to see Marquez vs. Soto on HBO. What do you guys think?

Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Guerrero or Sotto

I don't care which one. I can see why Sotto might be a better fight.

Rios vs Guerrero would be a WAR!

But any match involving JMM would be great :good

I believe JMM still has enough left to beat anyone at 135, and call me crazy but i think Miguel Vazquez would give JMM the most difficult fight.

Damn that's a good question! In terms of skills and significance I would say the same Marquez - Cotto. Then if you wanna a FOTY candidate what about Katsidis vs Antillon. I like Miguel Vazquez who could face Acosta. That would be a good fight as well. Thow in Rios and Linares in the same ring: that would be an interesting clash of style.
Many interesting fights to be made

135 is loaded with good fights. People say the division suck but its usually just Pac haters.

Anything involving JMM, Soto, Guerrero, Rios, Antillon, and Katsidis is FOTY worthy.
If you take JMM out of that equation then those are all 50-50 fights. I think JMM should be favored over all of them. Although Guerrero is a very tough fight for him.

HBO should take the lead and make Soto- JMM fight happen, they have more than enough in their budget to shut both promoters up.

... and they shouldn't just take what GBP gives them. I hope HBO also picks up Donaire-Montiel.

The best should be Rios to beat Soto and JMM to beat Guerero. This will creat a very nice match up between JMM and Rios. I'm voting for JMM - Rios but under these conditions.

So essentially all other fights at 135 are garbage unless one of the fighters is JMM?

135 is garbage, the guy who was going to dominate that division died. Marquez vs. Soto would be the best fight.

    a 135 tourney:

    1) Miguel Acosta vs. Robert Gurrero
    2) Humberto Soto vs. Miguel Vazquez

Winner of fight 1 vs. fight 2 gets JMM

Best fight probably doesn't involve Marquez, since he's that much better than everyone else at the weight. Best fight involving Marquez is probably Marquez-Soto. But the best fight overall is probably Rios-Antillon or Katsidis-Zappavigna.

The guy I think you're referring to was moving to 140 anyway.
