What is Vitlai Klitschko’s most impressive boxing stastics?

Faking or obtaining the greatest number of injuries, what was it 4 or 5, in order to not fight Hasim Rahman.

I think that is his greatest stat!!!

Followed by being KO'd in the amatures by Oleg Maskaev in the first round!

This was in fact caused by a punch it might have not been in the pro's but it happened.

I would be surprised if he even fought Peter, I am sure he has hoping for Maskaev to win.

By the way Wlad is by far the better boxer, so if you want to cockride a Klitchko make it Wlad you will fare better.

 

I think the third option is probably the most impressive which is never being behind on the cards after three rounds. His Ko percentage is certainly impressive, but lots of guys have put together big knockout records. To win more rounds than any other champion implies that he not only has power, but the ability to box and stay on top of things during a fight. As far as competition, I think Vitali has fought a broad range of fighters who rate from average to good. He has never really defeated what I would consider as a great fighter persay. The closest he ever came was against a 38 year old Lennox Lewis, a fight in which he was ahead on the cards but was forced to retire due to a cut. Vitali was a very good fighter, but I can't give him an all time great rating. There simply aren't enough big names in the win column.

 

Vitali vs Maskaev was stopped by Vitali's trainers because he was injured from a previous bout. Had nothing to do with a punch... or the fact that Maskaev was a more matured young man, and Vitali was still a kid.

Second, Vitali has had to undergo back and knee surgery. He also hasn't fought since 2004. I don't think that people "fake" it for almost 4 years a few surgeries.

 

I wouldn't say Vitali has the highest KO % in boxing history.

Herbie Hide for one has better.

 

By far his most impressive stat is how he has the WBC by the nuts and granted him the first crack at Peter even though he hasn't fought in 4 yrs.

His second most impressive stat is his unwillingness to let boxing go. The sport has moved on and has new champs out there, and he is trying to tie up the game by head hunting the WBC titlist even though he is still unproven. (kinda ties into #1)

Lastly, his inability to complete a training camp without injury. I just don't understand how he can get back in the ring if he is in such bad shape to not be able to finish training. WBC is setting him up for failure. If peter hits him in the back of the head like he does everyone else, then say hello to ***** St. Klits.

 

The most important statistic is 0-2 against elite HW's (if Byrd is even considered an elite...)

and neither men were genuinely lineal champions like Marciano or Foreman, but mere titlists, so technicaly for either one of them to steak claim as having the highest win/ko percentage of any "champion" Is a bit of a stretch.

 

Not so. KO% is amount of Ko's divded by total amount of fights.

 

Dumb comment. Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Robinson, Willie Pepp, Jack Johnson, Mike Tyson, Sam Langford, Jake Lamotta, and many other all time greats quit too. At least Vitlai was up on the cards. And get real, he retired because he lost feeling in his arm, and being young did not want to risk permenat damage. Byrd was L-U-C-K-Y. Even with a torn shoudler muscle, Vitlai was doing well vs a Pirme Chris Byrd. Oh, and not a chance for Byrd agreeing to a re-match either!

 

As do Alex Ustinov and Solomon Haumono.

Literally hundreds of fighters could claim to never have been down from a punch or never been behind after 3 rounds (what a ridiculous and contrived stat to focus on ), so those stats are even more meaningless than the first.
