Shufford had never been stopped, he had just one decision loss and had a win over Lamon Brewster before he fought Wladimir. Although Shufford was okay for a routine defense, Universum should have had Wlad in a third fight in 2001 against someone in the top ten.
Shufford Jefferson Mormeck Pianeta That is the list of his worst defenses. The rest seem to be a slight bit better than them. I don't know though Ray Austin and Botha sucked too so maybe toss at least Botha up there. I will say that Brewster II, Thompson II, and Rahman should not be listed at all. Good wins. Rahman not that great but a former lineal champ is a former lineal champ so it automatically passes all those other wins for that alone, as those above listed defenses are damn bad.
Ibragimov Mormeck By the way, I think Haye was the worst because Haye would only hold, run, fall down on the canvas, hold on to Vlad's legs, etc., it was Haye's fault because he refused to fight. Perhaps it could have also been Austin, but at least Austin was the mandatory because Don King made it so, but Austin did not deserve mandatory. Vlad knocked him out in the second round using only his left hand!!!!!!!
A agree but how many times on this site have we heard "Wlad's run of Wach, Mormeck, Thompson and Pianeta is the worst title run of all time". and "Wlad fighting the corpse of Rahman was one of the most disgraceful decisions a champion has ever done." That and I had to put down 10 names anyway. I voted Jefferson by the way. Which had all the hallmarks of a Frank VVarren WBO defense.
