Vitali Klitschko KO1 over a PRIME Odlanier Solis who had a slight knee injury > Deontay Wilder TKO 10 over a past prime Luis Ortiz who had high blood pressure and was a middle aged man that managed to win nearly every round and managed to stun Deontay Wilder before being drained off his stamina and getting stopped.
I'll admit when I say something stupid: he did not wear a knee brace into the ring. Not sure why I had that in my memory of this. It was super sketchy in that it looked like, if it did tear up right then and there, it did so with his feet planted and it's not like he torqued his body or leg in any kind of way at all. Still think he likely entered the fight with a knee injury of some kind (ala Haye entering the Bellew fight with some kind of ankle/heel issue from camp the couple weeks before).
That you have to drone on with that list means you're just trying to justify it to yourself, really. "high blood pressure" - probably some of the GOATS of the past had high blood pressure, probably a good handful of the top boxers today have high blood pressure "middle aged man" - people sure think highly of Fury and Kovalev's best wins over middle aged men "managed to win nearly every round" - except the one he got knocked down in and the one he got knocked out in "managed to stun Deontay" - oh, OK, any fight where a dude gets stunned by an opponent but later wins, lets give the other guy the "Event Win," yeah, sure Silly. Ancient Ortiz still > prime Solis
Solis is an underachiever at least Ortiz did something. Solis was expected to do way more than Ortiz.
This forum is testing me... It might make a Wilder defender out of me after all. Cause some of you guys are just a wee bit too emotional about that guy. And I know it goes both ways with his fanboys. But his "haters" outnumber his fanboys what seems at least 3:1 probably more on here.
One of the Cuban guys on here said he hurt it playing basketball with Ramon Garbey in training camp. I think he tore something that didn't prevent him from fighting, but totally screwed up his ability to safely distribute his weight if put in an awkward position, hence his entire knee tearing in half.
Both Odlanier Solis and Luis Ortiz are of a similar age. If Odlanier Solis was able to fight one of the Klitschkos. Then why couldn't Luis Ortiz as well? Why didn't he try to avenge the defeat of his sparring partner? Since Luis Ortiz was Odlanier Solis's sparring partner for Solis's fight against Vitali Klitschko.
Exacly when did Ortiz turn down a fight against Wlad or Vitali?? He didn't. You lied. End of discussion.
You seem obsessed with those two great brothers. Ortiz is nowhere near the level of the Klitschko's so what's the point in even discussing it.
If Solis stopped hitting the buffets and if Ortiz starts hitting the Cheerios they would be World Champions. Boxing is a game of inches.
Yup and he beat a smaller framed heavyweight Kayode but the win was reversed. Ortiz was busting a few times for PED's. And here is Heavyweight Contender Amir Mansour @1:00:00 (one hour in) saying former Cuban Olympian told him Ortiz had to be at least 50. This content is protected So Ortiz is likely a bootleg version of 48 year old George Forman (no offense)
